He is gonna start Nate out of family favoritism to Nick who is ALSO a BACKUP? So he does Nick a solid by promoting his brother, while keeping Nick a backup?
    That is beyond stupid.
Exactly. Another example of imaginations gone wild to support a narrative. Well stated Lemming!

As far as Frazier, I think he'll have a great chance to be the Day One starter because of his experience, skill, drive, and intellect. All of them well-documented.

FYI, I was only commenting on the brother thing in general, not suggesting it has a bearing on the C position this year.

The Steelers believed they had zero chance at drafting Fautanu:

Fun Fact: For the first time since Mike Tomlin became head coach in 2007, neither Tomlin nor the GM attended the Pro Day of their eventual first-round draft pick. In that same timeframe, the Steelers have only drafted 5 players west of Texas with a top 100 pick, with only one of them coming in the first round (David DeCastro). Given how heavily the pro day circuit influences their early draft selections, those facts make a lot of sense with how the Steelers top brass seldom visits the West Coast. That then speaks volumes to how highly they think of Fautanu that they eschewed all their typical drafting norms once he was on the board at pick 20. Seems like they didn?t even think there was a chance he?d make it to them!

I can tell you the bloodlines thing is real. I know many officers in the Army who are very successful that come from military families. The reality is they are better prpepared to understand the demands of the job and the types of issues they will have to deal with because they've seen their family members deal with it before.

The bloodlines things isn't necessarily genetic, its more understanding and knowledge that gives you a leg up

In football, this translates to starting advanced training regimens when you are younger because your older sibling or parent are feeding you info. Getting hooked up with trainers and coaches to accelerate your skill development because your family has connections to these folks. Etc, etc.

In sum, its not a bad thing if you are getting a better prepared product.

How did Frazier look in mini camp, and by that I mean did he absorb the playbook? Like I said the man is a smart with a high footabll IQ. I think he will mentally fit right in and use his strength / wrestling background to own his man.

A great needs / value pick in round two he was.

I can not wait until camp starts to get a look at what I consider is very good rookie class.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

I think Frazier will be on the same path Jones was last year. Won't start game #1 but will probably be the fuull time starter by game #4 or 5
