What is it with Tomlin that we have so many diva's and me first team last players?

So apparently the bust Kenny Pickett did not have a good attitude either.

Why do the Steelers have so many diva's under Tomlin and players who care about their stats first, team 15th?

No need to list them all. We know who they were.

And watch out for Najee Harris.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

It’s a Gen Z and Millennial league now so all of us old heads just have to be tolerant because it’s not gonna get better.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

Yep. Only the Steelers have this issue in today's NFL. No issues with Stephon Diggs in Buffalo! No issues with Tyreek Hill in Miami! Just on Tomlin teams.

Chuck Noll had total control. No players shooting at helicopters! No rookies speeding and wrecking and becoming paralyzed!

Just a ridiculous attempt at a negative narrative!

It's today's players and youth and their value systems, not who the coach is.

Hill wants out of Miami and is demanding a trade? Diggs quits on the field and says it's because he doesn't want to get hurt?

Since Blount in 2014 players who were misled by Tomlin about PT have learned that they just have to ask to enter the transfer portal and will be granted their wish.

Players get speeding tickets regularly. But they do no cross traffic on foot in a busy highway with cars and trucks moving 65+ miles an hour. At least player that I am aware of has.

Okay 1 bozo shot at a helicopter. 1 diva for Noll, who coached a long time is normal.

But Tomlin has several Divas. That is the difference. Your post is just a ridiculous attempt to undermine a problem.

But why does he have it, is the question! So may of them... You did not answer that question.

Personally I have had enough with the Diva players.

The college transfer portal is breeding the "I-don't-like-it-here, I'm-gonna-pack-my-stuff-and-go-somewhere-else" modern athlete.

Hill broke an IG models leg because she knocked him down in his back yard. Hill also wasn’t drafted by Miami. if you don’t remember. He said Tua was more accurate than Mahommes.

Diggs quit in camp and ran home last year.

This is the problem with fans. They don’t seem to remember or care when players act out on other teams.

yep.. but I don’t blame players for doing what coaches have done to them for year in college. Recruit a kid and then leave for more money before the season starts.

Oh wait, Canada did that to Kenny at Pitt.

But I am gonna defend Erie Holmes a bit here.

Dude had a mental illness, and The Chief stood by him.

Holmes had an emotional breakdown while driving on the Ohio Turnpike on March 16, firing shots at a police helicopter as it pursued him.[8][9][10] He was charged with shooting at a Highway Patrol heli-pilot. Holmes was found in a field near his abandoned car in Goshen Township, Mahoning County, Ohio.[11][12] When apprehended, he threw his gun away and put his hands up. He was given five years' probation. Diagnosed with acute paranoid psychosis, he was believed to be depressed and having marital troubles.[13]

If we are going to equate mental health issues with being immature/bad attitudes I am out (guess I was never "in").

Comparing today to the 70s is ridiculous. Nolls methods would win NOTHING in todays NFL.

                    Completely different power dynamics.

Joe Green and Terry Bradshaw would have left via free agency before winning anything. Blount would have bounced later maybe Lambert as at times they ALL wanted out.

Back then if you wanted to be in the league you had to shut up and take it. Those days are over.

My dad was good friends with Holmes. My dad was late to my first birthday party and brought Ernie Holmes to cover for not being on time.

Holmes loved to party in Aliquippa but you needed a chaperone for that town so he always called on my dad to go with him because my dad also loved to party in Aliquippa.

I don?t want to make light of mental illness but I would not be surprised if Rooney found one of his doctors to make that diagnosis.

Back then, teams did a lot to help players clean up their messes.

Well, if you think about it, it makes sense. Tomlin has never been held accountable. Nothing is ever his fault. It’s always the players or coaches that are the reasons for underachieving.
It’s real easy for those type of players to see that and then act the way they do.
Look no further than this message board to prove the blame is never/rarely on Tomlin.
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

Ah the cynicism that is life today. I don't care or want to argue with you because, A) I don't know and B) there is much validity in your supposition. It's just sad that one cannot have a moment to state something positive without there being the X-Files conspiracy angle thrown at it.

Not meant to throw shade at you, it is what it is.

One other thing, if you live in another NFL city you know first hand that all teams have divas and drama.

I lived in Philly when McNabb was out in these streets with his brother. Marvin Harrison shot someone and tried to hide a gun in a bucket.

Terrell Owens was blasting McNabb and doing pushups in the driveway.

Lived close to Cincinnati when tons of their players were getting in trouble. Remember the WR who died when he fell out of the truck his wife was driving?

Players acting out isn’t a Tomlin thing. Its an NFL thing. Every franchise has these stories.

I mean, folks on here used to love using New England as this place of discipline and they had a murderer on the team. Another player who got caught with a good amount of coke in his possession. Another who had a gun at the airport.
