Khan and company clearly think the Steelers are a few holes short of making a run. Two of them now filled. I see the Steelers making another mid tier snatch hopefully at center so we don?t need to spend a first rounder on center. I think with the signing of Queen (which honestly I didn?t think would happen) the Steelers focus on the OL, WR, DB and/or DL in the first 4 rounds.
The Steelers making a run this year!

Agree they're making a run, but don't need to spend draft capital on a WR. Convince DJ to stay, sign Boyd or Juju to play slot.
I think they're going for JPJ in round 1. He's the generational center Kahn said they need. -
I've said in multiple threads that the leadership rightly sees we are on a three year window before we will either lose Watt, Minkah and other key pieces of the defense. Can't wait hoping Pickett gets it, they already feel he won't.
Love the aggressiveness and clearly there is a plan"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"Comment

It just seemed that they were clearing all that money for SOME reason, so I "guessed/wished"...
I don't think this means ILB isn't happening in this draft either. Between the uncertainty around Holcomb AND Roberts' contract expiring after the season, it feels like they still could keep it on the board, but now it's optional, not a requirement.2013 MNF Executive Champion!Comment

This is a great signing no doubt but we will still need other bodies there, FA and draft. Alexander may be done and the rest other than Roberts are scrubs or has beens.I said Queen, but only half believed myself...

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.Comment

I still hope they grab Cooper but this signing makes it much less likely. I think it will be DB or OL in the first.I said Queen, but only half believed myself...

Same! I really like Cooper. I think he's gone by 2.51, but if he's there I wouldn't rule it out given the state of the ILB room (between injuries and contracts).
I also really like Tyler Nubin with that pick. Obviously, C, CB and OT are all in play depending on the board and the remainder of FA.
I 100% think they'll make one more splash at CB in this free agency period in an attempt to become instant contenders. That's the biggest hole without a guaranteed plug in the draft.2013 MNF Executive Champion!Comment

I would love for them to grab a DB, safety, WR and Center lol. Then the Steelers could truly draft BPA. And that guy would either be Cooper. Justin Simmons, S
Justin Simmons would be as good of an addition to the Steelers defense as you can get, and even at 30 years old and still holding a market value of $11.1 million per year, he's well worth the contract.
That being said, Simmons may make the Steelers' secondary everything they've hoped for and more. He and Minkah Fitzpatrick would be the best safety duo in the NFL - no questions asked - and could take plenty of pressure off of Joey Porter Jr. and the rest of the cornerbacks.
Simmons would've made his way into the 'Makes Too Much Sense' tier if the Steelers wouldn't be spending $30 million on their safeties.

lol?. Fans saying that the Steelers have a special way of building a team.
The last few years we seen spending in FA, big trades, drafting marginal character guys and now ?going for the win? is this year moves.
I have to laugh at the fans that criticize other fans for wanting to make significant moves in the past , are now the ones talking about how great these ?non steeler? moves are .
Unbelievable how some can?t think for themselves. How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?Comment
