I say this because EYE used to defend Mason a ton on here. He was blamed for the Lions loss and the fumbles by Muth and DJ were glossed over in that game.

I think Mason exceeded expectations so some folks want to crown him but it was a small sample size.

A lot of people are switching up and acting like they knew it all along and Tomlin was the one who was blind to it but go back and search for post on Mason prior to these games and it was not a pretty sight.
Too lazy to go back and look but I was a Rudolph supporter for a long time until it was obvious the Steelers didn't consider him as the heir apparent. Not gonna beat my head against a wall that Tomlin set up.

Very similar to fans that support/love/like drafted players and FAs pick ups that turn out to suck. All of a sudden those fans chose to ignore their prior posts or accept being totally wrong.
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

I actually recall that you liked Mason Dizz. Before I did while Ben was still playing you said that. Got no trouble giving you flowers.

I DID comment on how well Mason played in the 22 preseason and how he did not seem to be getting a legit shot. People suggested he was playing 3rd stringers so it was meaningless.

I don’t fully fault Tomlin for INITIALLY looking at Kenny as the future. But Mason is simply better than Mitch.

Had the veteran been Mason rather than anointing Mitch LAST SEASON perhaps Mason shocks the world LAST SEASON.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

Does this mean that the Patriots are blaming Brady for their fall off? (Or any other team losing their franchise QB to retirement?)

I really do think the fan base for this team is so spoiled. Look what these 2 QB's are doing in this game today. Mayfield got a raw deal in Cleveland. and so did Goff in LA. Now look at them... Give the team some to figure this out.

And while he cleaned up his act, I don't think he was ever a student of the game like Brady or Manning. Reps and practice and study was not his thing. He just wanted to go out and play backyard ball most of the time. He was what he was and I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Steelers under his leadership.
I believe your negative review of Ben is inaccurate. Your spinning a narrative that isn't true. Always did stupid things. I can think of two public stupid things. Driving a Suzuki crotch rocket in my opinion was stupid but a lot of millennials in the day did so. His wreck was the old ladies fault.

His dalliances with a couple females exposed him to trouble at a time when hustling wealthy athletes was common especially drunk dumb ones.

The Steelers threw him under the bus on that. They should have fought the suspension. No crime was charged. What you read about what people say is just BS. No crime was charged.

Don't recreate or spin history to suit a narrative that you seem to be spinning with your use of adjectives that are inaccurate or just BS.

                  What’s up Ben?

This is a bit of a reach. It doesn’t matter if the lady was at fault. This is the whole reason for wearing a helmet and why everyone begged him not to ride a motorcycle.

The other off field issues. First one was definitely dumb on Ben’s part. Sleeping with the help at the hotel? Then getting into more trouble for the same thing 2 years later. Just stupid on his part.

That?s a good question and something Patriot fans could answer. I wonder if Bill blames Brady? Dude got fired.

Imagine if we went 3-14???? People are b!tching at 10-7 just 2 years after Ben retired.

Here's the thing, not wearing a helmet is stupid. Here in Ohio back then nobody wore helmets. He was from Ohio and at the time was only in PA a year or two.

You're right if you have $ you sure don't have to mess around with the help or drunk chicks. But the history should be corrected.

Right now it's only two years since Ben. Hopefully we won't have to wait 20 years to get our next QB. We shouldn't trash his rep. Especially those of us who benefited from his play.

I think we can appreciate Ben's on field accomplishments and recognize his shortcomings off the field.

With Ben gone, i think he is finally seeing what the NFL has become and claims to bring the Steelers offense into the new era.
