    Something to consider

I posted in another thread, but thought perhaps it was worth a discussion on its own

Keep in mind, during Pickett's "big year" in college he was throwing to Jordan Addison who made him look very good. In the NFL, Pickens has made unbelievable catches for his big plays. Seems like the WRs elevate Pickett versus the other way around.

Rudolph seems to enable the WRs to do more because he delivers a ball they can do something with

    Thoughts?

I think Windy had a good video clip of Pickett throwing from the pocket.

These last 3 games and Mitch’s poor showing has a few fans talking crazy now.

Happy for Mason but folks act like he threw 12 TD’s these last 3 weeks.

I know most won?t say or admit it - but QB?s have to inspire their WR?s and make them believe. When that happens you get spectacular plays. If the WR doesn?t trust the QB you get sloppy routes, alligator arms and ?business decisions?.

Jury is still out on Kenny, I think Mitch lost them last year. They are buying into Mason.

      It makes a difference.

Mason is the most confident QB right now and deserves to be playing.

But a lot of people seem to forget how well Kenny and the offense played against the Bungles, just after Canada was sacked.

Pickett can and has hit Pickens (and DJ) in stride for multiple big plays, the difference is that Mason throws downfield more often than Kenny. So if Kenny misses on the 1 or 2 attempts, that's it for the game. Mason keeps on chucking it.

Mitch also did it again this year!!! The Colts and Pats game is when Pickens stopped blocking. People were so frustrated with those losses they put the lack of offense at Kenny’s feet for those games.

them why do you think Mason’s
PFF score was meh vs the Bengals?

I actually think Mason throwing quickly underneath to the RB’s is the difference.

We also have to remember the first Bengals game forced the Bengals
to give Muth a ton of attention. It was shocking seeing them leave Pickens in single coverage for damn near the whole game

I think you're maybe underselling how terrible the offense had been before Mitch came in.

Canada certainly takes his share of that. But Kenny owns it too.

They don't credit the QB for TDs with that much YAC. Do you think if Pickens was caught and tackled at the 1 on both that Mason's grade should have been punished? If that had happened, his 124 passer rating would have dropped to 99 through no fault of his own.

I'm also guessing his 4 turnover worthy plays vs. Baltimore hurt him with PFF even though he had only one official turnover.

FWIW, Mason's 3 TDs is half as many in 3 games (and 3 passes against Indy) as Kenny (6) had in 12 starts (minus how ever many quarters he missed for injury).

Mason's TD% (4.1) this season is more than double that of Kenny's this year (1.9...higher than his 1.8 last year).

There is a real difference between these two guys in terms of their ability to score.

Mason should be playing right now. He has looked like the best QB we have this year. He has 3 straight 110+ QB ratings. The WRS and the team respond to the intangible leadership traits that he projects.

We should bring him back to compete with Kenny or the other way around. We can have 2 starting type QBS. Remember when Joe Gilliam and Terry Bradshaw split starts .

I know people on here have a lot invested emotionally but I am glad Mason is our QB going into the game against the Bills. Maybe he'll crap the bed so to speak but I don't think so.

PFF not passer rating.. and specifically for the Cincinnati game. It was like 61.

This is Mason's 4th year in the league. KP isn't a finished product yet.

This is Mason's 6th year in the league, I can't believe you need to be told that by someone who "is not a Steelers fan".
