Can you still walk with a torn MCL?

If you have a grade 1 (minor) MCL tear, you'll likely still be able to walk at the time of the injury, though it might be painful. A grade 2 (moderate) MCL tear could make it difficult to walk at the time of the injury since your knee won?t be as stable as it normally is. If you have a grade 3 (severe) MCL tear, it?ll be difficult to walk since your knee will be unstable, and you probably won?t want to walk since it?ll be very painful. In most cases, treatment for MCL tears involves using crutches (https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/15543-how-to-use-crutches) to limit the amount of weight you put on your affected knee.

I'm not sure if Watt's tolerance for pain assisted him with walking but, he was not limping all that bad. Maybe a good sign that it's not as severe as reported.
Way too early reports was a grade 3.

I agree with what you stated/observed...just relaying the initial diagnosis.

I feel the same way brother...far too early. I'm sure trainers can check the stability of the knee and get an idea, but I can't imagine anyone on the Steelers training staff leaking to Schefter or Rapoport that they feel an exam reveals the worst case scenario. Particularly so soon after it happened.

I'm holding on to that and the fact that Watt seemed to walk pretty well.

Or franchise QBs dont grow on trees. If it was EASY Cowher would not have gone over a decade before Dan Rooney had to FORCE one on him.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

Reports were Watt wanted to go back into the game. Coaches said no.

Hope this is a good sign. Pretty sure Watt is always going to want to go back on the field.
