I have confidence in Khan when it comes to our draft a year from now. Believe we really got a nice pick up in Rush after the draft. Khan n his staff crushes it for another draft or two and yeah I believe we'll have a chance to compete for another Lombardi and not just be a one n done playoff team. We are not there yet however.

Sadly, we will NEVER draft a QB with the pedigree of Bradshaw or Ben until we fire that idiot Tomlin.

Because unlike his TWO HOF predecessors (and nearly every long term coach in history) our current coach seems INCAPABLE of LOSING THE NUMBER OF GAMES REQUIRED to draft a Ben or Terry.

That is some kinda memory. I dont recall that debate at all. I thought we drafted BOTH OF THEM nearly a decade apart.

But I might be wrong. My memory is not what it used to be.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

      TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

I agree wholeheartedly. The qb argument aside, two more strong drafts and you’re looking at a team competing for Lombardis. I like the Rush pick up also. If we can get him a Trice to hit that will make a big difference on our backend going forward. Not sure they retain Petersen next year but who knows.

          it wasn't Jamain Stephens.

Cowher wanted to draft Arkansas OL Shawn Andrews, and Dan Rooney had to step in to encourage the selection of Ben instead.

Every year the teams with the 10 best QBS are really the only teams likely to win a Super Bowl. nothing else matters if you don't have a Big Ben type. QB should be our #1 priority next year seeing it's maybe the best qb draft in 20 years & we have Kenny who is average at best.
You know what is really funny? when someone says that is a really dumb statement, and then types a really dumb statement.

Are you meaning Shawn Andrews? that was a really dumb statement.

I see almost no chance that QB is their number one priority unless Kenny has a significant injury or starts throwing picks at an alarming rate.
                  You would win that bet.

In no way, barring a career threatening injury to Pickett, they draft a QB in round 1 next year. Probably wont draft one at all even in round7.

Andrews would have been the Cowhers eras SECOND TERRIBLE decision at tackle. Not because he was awful but because Ben was there.

Any wonder Colbert was scared to draft one in the first during the Tomlin era?

I did see that and it was remarkably ironic. Some things you just can't make up. They write themselves.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

But that all happened behind the scenes. This was not a debate held on Steelers message boards.

man, when you first told me about this scandal I thought it was huff but my goodness. This "marine" was in disguise on the sideline and on video at the CMU game. He also has a paper trail that goes back 25 games or so..

you were right. This is BAD. Way worse than I imagined. I was thinking this year but it goes back 3 years I believe. I do think Ohio State looked into it but it's not like they made this up. I will say, it's so bad I have to wonder if he is a double agent. Why are you on the sideline?

I don?t want to date myself, but the debate about HOF qb?s and Bradshaw is making me laugh. I mean, the Steelers knew on draft day he was gonna be a HOF QB. so did the fans. It?s why he had instant success and was beloved and admired his first 3-4 years here in the ?burgh - then becoming a legend after SB IX. So of course we (and the team) know KP can?t do it. He?s had 20 games now to show us and it?s clear. Time to move on.
