Are defenses catching up?

The best teams can still score a lot, there are just fewer teams who can probably win a Super Bowl now, and the Steelers are not one of them. You can't win a Super Bowl when outside of 3-4 splash plays a game -- 1 on offense -- you get totally dominated on both sides of the ball.

but I think this year is showing even those good teams that can score in bunches will have to win low scoring defensive game vs good competition.

You kept stressing how we need to win shootouts to compete with the best teams but I think that NFL has changed dramatically since defenses went 2 high last year.

Now we are seeing a lot of games with teams grinding out wins and Eagles fans wondering what happened to Hurts even though he is 5-1 or how Mahomes misses his WR’s since they have been held to 20 and under in half their games.
