The number one running back isn't the problem right now. I don't care who it is, Harris or Warren, neither is making the difference in the offense as it is currently performing. Ok, so, lets go with Warren, how many more points does this offense score if he gets Najee touches and Najee gets his? The answer is probably none. This is exactly what I'm saying right now, your bias is for Warren, neither back looks very good right now. So, let me ask you, Pickett has sucked, why not replace him? Freiermuth has sucked, why not replace him. You can make a case that the entire offensive line has sucked, why not play all the backups? You're picking one guy as if he's the damn devil incarnate and want him benched when the entire offense can be benched for lack of performance.

NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo reports Jaylen Warren is expected to see “more work for the Steelers in the running game.”
Garafolo also mentioned the Steelers’ expectations of Najee Harris getting better as the season goes on, so this isn’t a full backfield takeover from Warren yet. Still, Warren has looked like the more explosive back in Pittsburgh this year and that was readily apparent during his rookie season as well. With just nine carries through two games, it makes sense for Mike Tomlin to get Warren more involved on the ground.Comment

The judgement one has to make is over 18 games and 100+ practices! That is the narrative. Canada does not pick the playing time. Tomlin does.I'm not sure any judgment can be made about either back in the running game because the offense has been so putrid. It feels like if you have an axe to grind for Najee you can find some stat to fit your narrative and if you have an axe to grind for Warren you can do the same. The entire offense needs to come together as a group and begin to make plays. If you're willing to replace Najee for lack of performance you have to replace nearly every single player on offense by those standards. Now, a fresh overall perspective could make a huge difference and that would mean jettisoning Canada and bringing in an OUTSIDER to run the offense who has no preconceived bias for any player and let players earn their playing time. If you're not changing the entire picture, I think you have to roll as is because a scant few are performing up to NFL standards on offense.

Yes I do have ax the grind against sup par Steeler..especially those who start. This is not unique.Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.
Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.
*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***Comment

Yep. it is that simple. I hope Warren gives them a spark in the run game. same with Harris. Perfect week to quote this but Just win BabyComment

Are you going to concede on our signature bet yet? Harris is not rushing for 1,300 yards or more this season.

Why he has 139 yds so far with 14 games left, which means he needs 1161 in 14 games. So he needs like 83 yards per game.Comment

its been 3 games and we played 2 of the best defenses the first 2 weeks.
Now that we scrapped the zone blocking watch Najee start rolling.Steelers 27

I think so too, Najee looked much comfortable with this blocking scheme and so di the line. If Canada can not be so predictable and Kenny can back those safeties out of the box I think Harris and Warren will both eat.Comment

Not sure if thr Texans have a good defense or the Jags just suck this year.
Hoping to see us run more and stack a few wins.Steelers 27

I hope that he starts hitting the hole.
He's much better when he's not trying to run like Bell.
You're a huge, powerful RB. Take the ball and hit the hole.
I think that's what people like about Warren. I don't think he's a better back. But he's much more decisive.Comment

But typically he runs into a different front and actually rushing the ball Warren hasn't been that good. You saw Najee hitting the hole when it was there and trying to cut back when it wasn't. The issue is the predictability, too many guys getting downhill too fast and hitting our backs in the backfield.I hope that he starts hitting the hole.
