Is what we are seeing a...

...result of the water downed training camps and pre season? Less physicality. Less tackling. I know they agreed to this nonsense in the latest CBA, but its ruining the game. It sure doesn't seem like there are fewer injuries.

Good games have been few and far between the first two weeks of the season. Lots of mistake filled games and while we focus on and are hyper-critical of the Steelers, there are lots of uneven performances so far.

IMO the first 3-4 weeks of the season are the real pre-season

yeah, Pickett does not look good but anyone who watches other games can see a lot of these teams aren’t playing good ball.

and most of the high priced QB’s have under performed this year.

The Steelers starters played more in the preseason than they used to in Ben's hey-dey.

I think it's more likely that they just aren't very good.

It seems that defenses around the league are a head of the offenses.

The overall QB play doesn't appear to be good enough.

          To add to this...

IMO, what we saw in the preseason from KP and the whole offense was a result of vanilla preseason defenses.

That's the part that's really interesting. He made all the throws when he knew the reads... I'd be curious if he just needs someone to coach him through more complex reads

I guess the rhetorical question I have to this point...does the Steeler have a competent coach who can coach him on the more complex reads. I am starting to have doubts around this...

Less complex reads, yes. And also less pressure.

I think Defenses are on to Canada's simplistic playbook and found that it's just easy to defend against, especially when our line isn't playing very well either. Load up against the run. Bring pressure on Kenny. Tight coverage on the short/intermedite routes. Our offense can't deal with it.

The only aspect defenses haven't solved is PIckens. He's the only thing that's working, when Kenny has a few seconds to find him.

this morning as i looked through the offensive coaches, i forgot that they hired a guy this summer as a special offensive assistant... my gut says they were already hedging their bets on Canada. If him and Tomlin gel, I could see him as the next OC.

This is untrue. The starters only played like 1 to 2 series each game. 1 Series only in game 1. They used to play until halftime and way back when, they played some of the 3rd Q.

Besides the long list of issues, Steelers will have to prove they can throw the ball consistently to be able to run better...Drives me crazy when NH runs
2 plays for nothing and then they send him up the middle a few plays later for nothing..we loose so many possessions in so many games htis way....
