    Pickett off

He’s not A rookie anymore. Bad throw then a pick.

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Pickett is definitely off. The offensive line is killing him but he's not making the throws when they are there. He's off target too frequently and has reverted to being Check-down Charlie. He made maybe two or three good throws against the Stains. They are a good defense, but Pickett is definitely not playing the way this team needs him to.

Our O line doesn't play better we are in trouble. Cole has struggled for 2 games with his run blocking. He has not played well enough imho.
How we didn't have 3 corners on the field on that second to last drive idk. Asking a lb to walk out and cover the flat against a wr not good. Yeah stick with cover 2 but play man under rush 4 n you still have 2 backers on the field.

His throwing was pretty bad for the most part. But I'll give him one positive; when he had the time he did go through progressions. Other than that it's hard to see a franchise QB in the guy. Against good defenses (playoff worthy) he's been far from adequate, not even game manager.

I think i'd rather have Duck Hodges out there.

I was thinking the same thing as I typed that sentence about the offensive line. When given time he mostly made his reads and fired those two or three good throws. However, him getting time to do that didn't happen a heck of a lot.

Like Tomlin said in his post-game though...good to be able to work on these issues coming off a win.

The thing is it's hard to tell how bad KP really is given he has to play in Canada's offense. Canada is not an NFL level OC. I see a QB this year that has little to no confidence, that's obviously not a good thing and I didn't see anything tonight to suggest that will be changing.

The o-line has sucked seemingly nonstop for a couple of weeks.

doesnt help that Warren can?t block for schitt

Are they really this bad? Seumalo was supposed to be a star? makes me wonder if they are being given crap assignments

if he continues to grow I see Kirk Cousins. With that said, maybe hes that dude who starts seasons slow and builds steam. Maybe hes ballin out and peaking at the right time. Thats the thing about young QBs you never know. But as of now gotta stick with my initial thoughts on the dude.

There is enough film on the man to form an opinion on him. IMO, he's not Kirk Cousins! Like I said, Andy Dalton is his upside. We shall see how he plays on the road.

Hasn't been close to either, frankly. I still love his work ethic and leadership qualities, but on the field he just doesn't look like a guy and we've got a lot of games on tape.

Rest of this season is all about finding out who he really is, they can't afford two more years of this.

Andy was insulted by that comparison lol.

My struggle was seeing replays on some of those "how'd you miss that?" throws and seeing that it it wasn't really a bad ball, him and the WR weren't on the same page.

There was one in particular, late in the 1st, Pickens was in the middle of the field, maybe 12-15 yards downfield where live it looked like he missed him by a bit. He had a fairly clean pocket, stepped into the throw. She goes WTH? I said, "no way he missed that badly, I wanna see the replay from another angle".

                              They showed the replay.

Pickens is coming across right to left, fairly full speed. Pickett's loaded his arm to pass right as Pickens slowed as if he was going to sit down in a hole. Pickett threw it where the pace would have taken Pickens had he not slowed. It would have been square in his facemask had he continued.

Aikman continues to say, "you can't miss like that". Aikman was wrong. At the moment, I'm good with miscommunications between young QB/WR tandems. Those are fixable.

There was another one, a deep ball that he attempted to back shoulder to CA3. Live, it looked like he underthrew it by 7 yards. The replay showed CA had a slow reaction to coming back, but even when he did attempt to come back, the defender grabbed the tiny WR by the shoulder pad and made him fall. I'm not sure that he would have quite gotten back to it - but grabbing a flyweight is going to stop him in his tracks.

On both of those plays, I could imagine Big Ben coaching/yelling at the WR as to where he should have gone as they walked back to the huddle.

While there is always concern about your young QB and if he's good enough, I'm not ready to throw in the towel. I need those young WR and young QB on the same page before I commit to say that he's good or bad.

For those of you who re-watch the games, keep an eye out for those types of plays
