Did Kenny miss 24 pts worth of throws?

He had several bad misses, most notably the slant DJ before the half, but that drive ended in a TD. Most of the other misses were well outside of the red zone, middling throws that would have perhaps extended drives, but not been scores directly.

He gets an F from me today, so I'm not excusing him, but even if he hit on all of his missed passes, do the Steelers win the game? This wasn't like the winnable Miami game last year, where hitting on a couple missed throws could have been the difference. They got beat up and down the field all game.

That's what worries me -- we looked like a really bad football team out there. I just hope people don't think that if he cleans up the misses we're going to start rolling. There's a lot wrong with this team right now.

Are you really suggesting if Pickett & the offense moved the ball & scored more in the first half the 49ers still score the exact amount of points even though the 49ers time of possesion would be much less, their starting field position is not at midfield & the Steelers defense gets much longer breathers before having to come right back on the field? Your thinking can't be that obtuse to not realize the domino effects an offense going 3 & out 5 straight times to start the game has on the game? We didn't get an offensive first down until the last drive of the half.....If our offense does better not only do WE score more points THEY would have scored less points. That's Football 101

I think the game would've been more competitive, less of an embarrassment and we probably wouldn't be as concerned about the future of the QB position. But IMO, we still would have lost decisively, even if Kenny's accuracy and decision making would've been better.

He was part of the issue but there were a lot of other problems in every phase.

You never know it would have been a completely differnt game.

Do you realize we forced the 49ers to a 3 & out the first time they got the ball? But they went for it because of field position. That doesn't happen if our offense gets 1 or 2 first downs before punting.

But how do you know those drives extend? The offense was bad all game, not just Kenny. It's not like he missed three TD passes.

Or if the punter could, you know, punt. Or if the D could get off the field.

LP, they marched up and down the field all day. Our D, the highest paid defense in the NFL no less, gave up a 65 yard TD after the halftime break.

Kenny sucked but it's clearly not all on him. I don't think Ben in his prime wins this game.

This is just crying in your beer. Would've , should've , could've ain't no way we were in that game.

They held us without a first down until 2 minutes left in the 1st half. If the 49ers would've kept throwing the football they would've put up 3 more TDS.

They had our number. They were playing everybody within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. They smacked us around. This was like the beatdowns to the Bills and Eagles last year. Move on and forget about this game.

The D did not play well. But the 49ers defense made 5 straight 3 & outs of our offense to start the game. If you guys don't realize the effect that has on time of possesion, field position & non breathers for the defense i'll just leave it at that. The significance is enormous. In fact it would be interesting to know how far back you have to go in Steelers history to get the Steelers offense going 3/out first 5 drives ??

Agree. Team-wide suck fest, with the offense pegging the suck-ometer.

Funny you say that, the game before his injury was the last opening day blowout loss in NE, 33-3. Ben had similar stats to Kenny's today, couldn't run, couldn't stop anything.

You know another way to swing TOP is to make stops.

Not so much on short fields.......49ers didn't have many long time of possesion drives. Defense gets a D, Offense gets an F-

When our 2nd play of the game was a jet sweep, I knew despite all of the hoopla, this will be the same garbage offense, with the same garbage coaches
