From the minute we got out of the car at St Vincent for the first day of practice in pads, I sensed an energy in Pittsburgh that I have not felt in decades.

There is a contagion in Pittsburgh. The crowds are way bigger. The expectations are way higher.

Tomlin has a new energy. Omar loaded up the roster like he was born to do this. And the players and coaches are warping this thing into a new stratosphere.

The best part is this feels like the beginning of the next Steelers dynasty.

3rd time is a charm.

We are on the cusp of something big here and I know yinz all feel it. All signs point to a big future for this team.

Let the Kenny MF Pickett era begin!!!!!!

Steelers Dynasty has been going on since 1970.

When everyone else sells, it can be a great time to buy.

At this point, everyone has given up. Not too different than when everyone gave up during our losing streak heading into our victory in XL.

We do not live in excuses but there are lots we need to overcome early in the season.

Play calling, QB, OLine, Dline, DBs, winning at the LoS, establishing and stopping the run, getting the passing game going, scoring, not going 3 and out, injuries, etc.

But this is a game of inches. And we just need 1 guy to start stepping and it can quickly get contagious.

I think we need to put in on the LoS. Let?s get Najee going and start stopping the run.

If we can shore those areas up, all the other pieces can start falling in place.

There is talent here. It is not playing to its potential, but we are not as bad as we look.

Time to get this ship righted and let?s do this. Belief is contagious and it needs to start somewhere.

After the bye, it?s time to right the ship.

No more predictable play calling.

No more zone blocking.

Less zone and more man coverage.

No more predictable routes.

Get the young guys more playing time and let?s get ready for a Super Bowl run.

The biggest area I think this team can improve is on D. This D has the players to be the best in the league.

Gotta stop the run. Gotta keep the pressure coming. And gotta clamp down on the back end.

This D can and should win us games until Kenny figures out how to navigate around Canada.

By season end, the O will need to succeed in spite of the play calling.

So far, there have been a handful of plays that could be made that would change everything in every game so far.

Expect that to continue.

We’re making small improvements. And these little improvements will compound.

Little more man coverage.

Little more dominant play by the Line.

Players getting healthy and coming back to play.

We still have issues to fix, but it feels pretty good sitting at 5-3 while we’re struggling.

JPJ and Brod are 2 young studs that are making an impact and gonna push others to be better.

There’s still a chance when guys get healthy and continue to develop that we could be a great team going into the last quarter of the season.

Gotta keep working. There’s some hope here.

The disappointing thing is that the 7-2 finish in 2022 was supposed to be a stepping stone to bigger and better things, but they started the season all the way back at square one. It takes half a season for the Steelers to warm up to playing mediocre football, scraping out low-scoring ugly wins vs. bad to middling teams.

This is the upside. We're reached our peak in 2023, I think.

I wouldn't be surprised if they won in Indy. They usually prepare better when they feel threatened and after they've been humiliated. If we see the same sloppy penalties and jogging out of routes and awful offensive concepts, though, I think the season is lost and losing out is more likely.

I was hoping they would have felt threatened and humiliated after losing to the cards and not wanting to be Belichick'd AGAIN. But nope. So, maybe two humiliations pushes all the right motivation buttons.
