I suppose the window with a cheap QB is short. That is what we are going for.
What mercenary talent did they bring in? Peterson? Robinson? Both on the back half of their careers. The Rams brought in mercenary talent, the Steelers tried make up for draft misses and departing players.

King, Sullivan, Herbig, Semula(sp), Petersen, Robinson, another CB?, and others. How many on our roster played for others?

I'm not saying that's bad , I'm saying it's was not the Steeler way. Art II is changing it up that's all. I like tradition. Like I said above it's getting like Baseball.

My intuition tells me Art II is going for broke. Companies always cook the books before a stock offering or before they are acquired. Owners what to maximize value. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Or they could just be trying to win. Build a team around your franchise QB while he is on a rookie contract

cook the books? c’mon, this is just a franchise who has a QB on a rookie contract, cap space and 6 years since a playoff win.

The front office wants to win games dude. That’s it.

dude said “cook the books” like we are doing something shady.

We just have more money than we have had in a long time and a nice amount of players on rookie contracts.

It's been the same thing for years. CBs, ILBs, OL, DL, backup QB, WR, etc. Didn't feel that much different this year.

The NFL is changing, it resembles Major League baseball , the way all the rosters are being shuffled.
                  I don't like it.
At least the NFL doesn't have the New York Yankees and the LA Dodgers to hog up all the talent.

I just have a intuition that like all other things of tradition, the Rooney's are selling the Steelers. They are cooking the books to maximize the sale price.
Agreed. The only reason they would be acquiring talent is to drive the price up.

To think they would do that to win games is just crazy talk. Who does THAT?

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

If they beat the 49ers I might make an offer. assuming they would accept Visa? If they lose though I don't want any part of them

In all my years of following the Steelers( close to 60) I have never seen such a revamp of a roster. Well Chuck Noll did blow it up a little back in what 69 but they only won a couple games. I have been thinking the last couple of years that Art II is going to sell the team. No more Heinz field and such a roster blowup. Going for broke in 2023. We have abandoned the home grown talent path.

                          King a late cut.
Sullivan one year deal, $1M cap hit
Herbig brought in as a backup
Peterson & Robinson former top players on the very back end of their careers
Only Seumalo a player brought in to be a solid starter on a multi-year deal, and that is only at AAV of $8M.

Steelers were busy with multiple signings, but no big impact guy.

                            I can't believe the deals fell through in 1974, 1975, 1978, 1979, 2005, and 2008.
