    8 DL: Who's Out?

OK, technically the Steelers have 11 DL on the roster. But only eight are truly in the running and the Steelers usually only keep six, maybe 7. Who's not gonna make the cut?
    1. C. Heyward
    2. L. Ogunjobi
    3. K. Benton
    4. M. Adams
    5. B. Fehoko
    6. A. Watts
    7. D. Leal
    8. I. Loudermilk

I think we can assume the first 3 are safe to make the team. Then it becomes a bit of a poker match. Like Tomlin said; "we're gonna have to let go of someone that can play this game". Someone may be playing for their job in ATL. My money says Watts is cut, Leal to the PS.

Probably I'll be wrong but I bet that Loudermik, Watts and Adams will be cut... Just my two cents.

Maybe 1 or 2 of this listed players. We usually keep six DL players. I think Watts is out. And Adams might join him!
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Good point on Adams. Never was very impressed with his game.

My picks too. I think they are higher on Leal and Loudermilk than most fans.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

          TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Leal is making this team. He was productive as a rookie and we need him.

Cam, Larry, Benton, and Leal are safe imho.

That leaves 2-3 spots for 4 guys.

              I?m guessing we?ll keep 3.

Fehoko is an elite run stuffer. How much do you need him if you keep Adam?s with Benton?

Watts showed elite pass rushing a few years back and is potentially valuable.

Adam?s can play NT and DT so he has flexibility.

And Loudermilk is solid against the run but hasn?t really popped in other ways. The question is has he peaked and not going to do anything more?

I think we?ll cut 1 and it could be Fehoko, Adams or Loudermilk. But I can also see some of the decision coming down to how healthy is Larry and how much do we think Benton and Leal can contribute and be counted on now.

I'm still waiting for Loudermilk to so something - anything - to prove he's worth having on the roster. What's the guy good at? Anyone? And Leal makes the active roster I think. He's a 3rd rounder, like Green last year, who still made it to the roster without even dressing a single game. Even Leal has shown more promise than that. Leal keeps a roster spot for 2023. I'd say Adams or Watts bigger cut threats. It's atypical for us to keep more than 2 NTs.

as listed on the depth chart 4 men as NT .... NT

                  Montravius Adams

                  Breiden Fehoko

                  Keeanu Benton

                  Jonathan Marshall

Benton is non negotiable he is a roster lock ... so you have 3 dogs and 1 bone left as a pure Nose so unless they bring something else to the table odds lessen that they make the team ...

                  Marshall is gone ...

leaving Adams and Fehoko .... I think they move on from Adams ....

                  Leaving Fehoko and Benton...

Leal isnt going anywhere he showed well as a rookie and his draft status buys him another year

Cam and Larry O are locks

pencil in Loudermilk for the 6th spot

                  so

                  Cam
                  Larry O
                  Benton
                  Fehoko
                  Leal
                  Loudermilk

if they keep 7 flip a coin
@dwinsgames on twitter .... Kenny Pickett is who I thought he was ....

Steelers DT Larry Ogunjobi spotted in walking boot, adds to defensive injury concerns

                          Key points:

Steelers DT Larry Ogunjobi spotted in a walking boot on Sunday
Ogunjobi missed the team's Week 1 preseason matchup against the Buccaneers

This is concerning as Ogunjobi has had previous struggles with injuries
Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi was spotted wearing a walking boot on Sunday after missing the team’s Week 1 preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Ogunjobi has a history of injuries that have limited his potential as a top defensive lineman. This latest injury is on his right foot, where he had previously undergone Lisfranc surgery in the 2022 offseason. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin mentioned that Ogunjobi and rookie cornerback Joey Porter Jr. were held out of the game due to minor injuries. There haven’t been any further updates on Ogunjobi’s condition.

                          >>> I'm unsure if Ogunjobo will make this team. If he does not Leal can step in for him and start. We got some pretty good reserve pass rushers too.

I?ve been reading Adams has been running with the 1st team exclusively.
if that?s the case I doubt he gets cut.
think they kept 7 last year. So I think they do the same.

I?ll say milk gets the cut. And they put him on practice squad.
I don?t think he?s shown enough for any team to pick him up and put him on their 53

By my count here it's a neck and neck race between Watts and Adams.
Maybe whoever gets PT in tomorrow's game will give a clue?
