In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than CowherComment

I wouldn't say it was necessarily doubt but I did (and do) still need to see more development before I'm a true believer. I love how Pickett closed last season out and every single offseason report was exactly what you hope to hear. His camp and preseason so far have been nearly flawless. He showed up bigger, stronger, and in full command of the offense. Every single arrow is pointing in the right direction.
I definitely see it and I'm ready to take the plunge. I just want to see it in the games that matter before I'm completely sold. If KP does have the goods, this team will contend.sigpic

His play in Wk1 could move me from fence-sitter to fence jumper...
. It's just really hard to draw strong conclusions from preseason. After all, MR is a preseason darling in his career.
Positives so far:- clearly going through his progressions (and has time to do it)
- no obvious mistakes in targets
- arm strength looks improved
- keeps eyes down field on scrambles
- excellent accuracy while running
Concerns:- still a tendency to leave the pocket early (learn to move around in the pocket)
- can he audible out of playcalls? (preseason they are running to a script)
- can he carry the team if the run game is shut down?
- physically, can he stay injury free?

Agree with all of the above. I also noted he kept his eyes downfield while scrambling. That's a good trait that is tough to coach. His play in Wk1 could move me from fence-sitter to fence jumper...

Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!
I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.Comment

I?m gonna have to wait and see before I believe in KP.
If he can win 3 straight SuperBowls, he might be ok.
He doesn?t have Pat or Josh?s arm so you always have to wonder about him.
And no matter what he?s always gonna be the 4th best QB in the AFCN at best. Maybe he?s 6 or 7th if you compare him to other teams backups.sigpicComment

Made a post about it, but I'm very excited to see what happens with Pickett this year. Preseason has looked great and I don't know how much more we can get out of it (although I would like to see the 1st team in the red zone).
Hopefully his great play (and the play of the offense) carries over into the regular season when teams are game planning.Comment

that's what I want to see..........the first team in the red zone!! I want them to become very proficient in the red zone. For starters, I'd like to see that they can pound it in if need be. Then I'd like to see KP be able to throw to the back pylon to GP. That's how you utilize a wide receiver like him. KP has already shown that he looks to Muth; which is good. Now put all of that together ..in the red zone and we all will get excited.Made a post about it, but I'm very excited to see what happens with Pickett this year. which is a logical non-fan boi response. The preseason means little to nothing as we have seen many times before: I?m more encouraged by the second half of the season play from KP than anything in the preseason.I wouldn't say it was necessarily doubt but I did (and do) still need to see more development before I'm a true believer. This is coming from the man who claimed he could throw the ball with just as much velocity as KP, so, not the most credible source lets just say. You claimed you, and just about everyone on this board, could throw 40-yard strikes. I questioned that you could and you didn't respond. You'd be lucky to throw a 40-yard pass that looked like a punt, never mind a "strike."Comment
