Remember how teams always seemed to get their #1 WR matched up against Spillane any time he was in the game?
Same would happen with Robinson. He cannot cover and I saw him get a bunch of chances in camp the 1st week in pads.
Robinson reminds me of Vince Williams too who would have struggles against the pass. That?s where I would put my hope in Robinson because Vince did get better with more experience.
I think for now we?re gonna see more Kwon and a 3rd S in the box for the time being.sigpicComment

I'm not sure all the obsession is with Robinson's coverage skills. Are ILBs signed to cover the opponent's #1 WRs? F--k no, they are not. Their job, 1st and foremost, is to lay lumber, and Robinson can do that well. The next time you expect a 250-LB ILB to cover a teams #1 WR, let me know. I'll get you right in to the #1 DC spot. We don't need any of those quick 190-LB CBs to be covering the #1 WR guys.Remember how teams always seemed to get their #1 WR matched up against Spillane any time he was in the game?

It's a passing league. If you don't have a LB that can cover they will be exposed. The TEs in the NFL will eat you alive. Why do you think they let Spillane walk?I'm not sure all the obsession is with Robinson's coverage skills. Are ILBs signed to cover the opponent's #1 WRs? F--k no, they are not. EDIT: case in point, BUF Kincaid with 3 catches for 45 yards....Last edited by NorthCoast; 08-20-2023, 09:46 AM.Comment

No that isn't the ILB's job first and foremost, in fact that isn't the first and foremost job of any position. Coverage is a priority for ILB's in this league, if you can't do it then you aren't gonna play much or at all. Most ILB can hit but not all can cover, I would also contend that Alexander is a more ferocious hitter than Robinson and Alexander can cover, play in space, and is excellent at reading and reacting.I'm not sure all the obsession is with Robinson's coverage skills. Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!
I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.Comment
