MR vs MT: Who should be our #2 QB in 2023??

I really want to see Mason take over as our #2. Mitch aint that dude.

Neither are much to write home about but at least Mason takes occasional shots and throws a nicer deep ball.

I like Mason over Mitch. I know Mitch's style is closer to that of KP8 so he'll probably remain #2.

I do like Mason better than Mitch overall.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

I'm with you on this. I'd even consider trading Mitch to a team who loses a QB due to injury. Maybe we can get a 2nd rounder for him. Probably not, but you never know.

I agree. Mitch has ran his course here. Especially for what he's making.

They both had chances. They both have serious flaws.

MT with only 4 attempts in the last game. One that should have been a big play if not for the WR. Another where the WR ran the wrong route. MT won two games for the Steelers last year. Without him they weren't even in the running for the post season.

MR? Yea, a preseason darling averaging 105 passer rating over his career. When the real bullets fly he gets unmasked.

I go with MT without blinking.

it wasn’t like Mitch threw us to glory in those 2 wins.

MR should we had a W vs the Lions but players kept fumbling after catching his passes.

and Cody White probably has a TD if he catches that pass from MR. The one from MT was defended well if you slow it down and look at the play the DB kade on the balk with his right hand.

Allen Robinson had the 2 best seasons of his entire NFL career with MT so for that reason alone I’m going with MT.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

Mason is a one trick pony. He throws an awesome deep ball when there is 0 pressure and it?s his primary ready.

Mitch has a much better arm, is a natural leader, and is super likeable and a better support system for Kenny. Mitch struggles a bit under pressure but if you give him a solid line, running game, and good receivers, I think he can be serviceable as a backup.

Just look at their body language on the sideline. Mitch is genuinely happy for Kenny to succeed. Mason is jealous.

It wasn?t that long ago that most of us preferred Duck over Mason. I think if Mirch was around that season, we could have gotten a playoff win that year with our D and a serviceable QB.

He did what was needed which is all you can ask of a backup. Keep him under 30 passes a game and he can stack Ws. It's when he is asked to carry the load that he has problems.

This...MT is the better QB and has shown it when it matters.

                      Mason is 5-4-1
                      Mitch is 2-3

Let’s not act like Mason never won a game for us.

If we kept Mason under 30 throws and relied on our running game I think he could easily go 2-3 like Mitch last year.

3 INT’s in the first Baltimore game.

I’ve argued that Mitch has better body language and is happy for Kenny but this does not mean he is what you want him to be.

                        That dude is not good.

Mitch is happy because he isn’t the number 3 QB. Let them move MR up and lets see if Mitch is the same guy.

MR is going to outplay him this preseason and camp. Watch it happen.

I would expect him too , I mean he will be playing mostly vs guys who will be flipping burgers and pushing shopping carts in a month ...does that mean he is better ? probably not ...

the thing is Mason is a statue , he will never win you any games with his legs and he rarely throws the ball down field he is a checkdown artist and that wont win in todays NFL either esp when they crowd the box (and they will as soon as the backup enters the game because they always do ) so I want a guy who at the very least is mobile and gives a threat to run with the ball
@dwinsgames on twitter .... Kenny Pickett is who I thought he was ....

LOL. You remember what you want to remember. Suggest you rewatch the TB and CAR games and tell me MT wasn't throwing dimes.
