They don’t process post well if it doesn’t fit their agenda. The 7-2 record after the bye frustrated them.

The problem is you fail to recognize the Steelers were an improved team in the second half and Tomlin was right to be more conservative.

The offense was much better in ball control, 3rd down offense and to protect the ball with only 5 turnovers in 9 games(3 of those was by Trubisky vs ravens)...And now in the training camp, they are working to be better to make big play...hopefully it will pay off in the regular season...That's their goal
Many of the turnovers in the first half were just flukey. The problem with a buttoned up offense is that you cannot overcome them, even against bad teams.

That's the entire point. The Steelers need to play near mistake free football to eek out wins against average to bad teams. Playing the best they have no shot.

        That has to change.

          20 - NYJ - 4 turnovers
          10 - MIA - 3 turnovers

A more conservative approach probably wins another game.

Goes to show when we protect the ball the chances of winning are much higher.
Were the turnovers from reckless play or flukey? How many were receivers falling down or bricking passes into defenders hands?

Your style requires perfection to beat bad teams in low-scoring games.

          Your style is wrong.

I agree it has to change but last year in the second half of the season it was the right strategy after the dumpster fire the offense were in the first half in every game

My biggest problem is that you CAN run a safe, short offense that is explosive, just look at SF. Our receivers almost always ran routes with no chance of YAC: buttons, sideline routes, and 50/50 balls.

I just don't think we have the offensive brainpower to develop a smart offense, which is why every yard is a grind.

Mahomes is the GOAT and his coach schemes up freebies for him, several a game.

We don't have the GOAT, need to help him more.

Of course Canada need to be much better...Is it a concern?...absolutely, but I'll hope for the best

The steelers can't have 2 turnovers per game like they did in the first half last year...I mean no team is going to be successful with that, not even the chiefs (just look at their first 7 games in 2021 when they were 3-4 and one of the biggest reason it was their offense had crazy number of turnovers)...Of course, I agree that we need to have more production, more big play and have a bigger margin from error....After the bye week, the steelers took a good step in the right direction with much better ball control and they were top 10 in points per drive in their final 9 games

But their next step is going to be bigger play and better in the red zone...I'll hope for the best but they have to be better at that...The good news they attempt more deep pass in practice in camp so far than in the past so we will hope that it will continue in the games

I understand if you are concerned with this offense, since it's the same for me but the coaches are not stupid since they know they have to be more explosive to be much better

The last 4 years, for the most part,it was not a good offense on paper, with the QB situation in 2019,Ben was one of the worst QB in throw of over 20 yards in the next 2 years and when the opponents knew that, the steelers had no answer to that

Last year the first half of the season in offense was unacceptable but they were much better in the second half and it's not just because of the schedule since outside of Buffalo and Philly, the schedule of the steelers in each half were similar.. ...This year, they have no excuse...if the Steelers don't take a step in the right direction in offense, it will be a big disappointment and depending on the context, many questions will have to be asked about Kenny, Canada and Tomlin

The Niners were stuck with rookie Mr. Irrelevant and their offense jammed. No excuses. It's the coaches' job to design the offense. For the last five years we've been stuck with Tomlin lackeys and yes men doing that job.

Jets game was fluky. Most of the other turnovers where Mitch and Kenny throwing to the wrong team.

Playing closer to the vest had a better outcome but we still overcame
mistakes to win some of those games. We were far from perfect on offense in the second half of the season.

I really don?t understand how you view our offense as perfection to beat teams.

What you witnessed is a team that played ball control offense and limited the amount of times the opponent had to score points.

The 49ers situation is not the norm in the NFL....Purdy had it all with him....Great coaching,o-line,receiver,RB,TE,etc...

And as great as Shanahan is, he didn't work miracles in some seasons when the 49ers had less talent....Every head coach is human...At the end of the day, W-L record is the most important stats and the strategy in the second half of last year gave the steelers the best chance to win.....You need to wake up and realize the steelers haven't had a good offense on paper since 2019 and yes the QB situation was a problem but it wasn't the only problem, so to put it on Tomlin about all the problems of our offense is just stupid

Notice how everyone can only use one team to make their point when it comes to rookie QB’s???

Its either San Fran or pointing out how other offenses looked better in a QB’s second or third year which we have yet to have with Kenny.

If we are being honest we know Canada didn’t really get to install his offense with Ben because he was in his last year.

"Clang, clang, clang went the trolley..."

Truth. Tomlin "and his lackeys" is a huge part of the problem. Shades is too simple to incorporate a decent offensive system and has no desire to hire an OC who could/would do the same. Megalomaniac stuff, as discussed previously. "Keep it simple, keep it safe, keep it dumb" to the point that the opposing D knows what's coming and how to defend it. Until we break the chains from piss-your-pants offense, we ain't going anywhere.
