I think I was right when speculating the Pats contacted us to offer the trade.

    12:30 in
On the trade with the Pats, he says:

“They” Then corrects himself and continues “I don’t who called who first”

He caught himself before spilling the beans people. I dont think for one minute he doesnt remember who started the trade talks for the first pick of his career.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

    TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

I like how Khan kept emphasizing its “Steeler decisions”

its a waste of time to try and pick who is responsible for each one based on how you feel about the player.

and no Cap. You aren’t right. No one will ever know who called who first, nor does it matter.

I thought that was a really informative interview. For all the various posters who try to assign blame or credit for every move this team makes, I hope it shows them everyone has got their spoon in the stew.

I appreciate the occasional f-bombs that Mcafee drops to keep it real and more like a personal conversation. I think it gets more authentic responses - despite the fact that I agree with Lemming about Khan covering his tracks. There is no way he doesn't remember who called who first. I'm sure he's relived those moments hundreds of times. The "they" he momentarily uttered may or may not have been a slip that revealed the truth (perhaps sucked in by Mcafee's F-bombs?) but I am certain he was being less than honest about not remembering.

Of course he remembers who called who. You have to be utterly clueless not to realize that. Come the F on. Khan well-remembers the chain of events that happened.

I don’t think it matters either. I just was thinking out loud in another thread as people commented on how the Pats hate the Jets.

In THAT context I said, I wonder if they called us first. Some said that was wrong.

I am POSITIVE that I called it correctly.

No shade to us, we wisely made the trade. But I just like when I know I called it first.

BTW, also 100 percent on the silliness of trying to remove Tomlin as a contributor on ALL decisions, in a collaborative effort.

You know DAMN well on his own Cool Shades takes JPJ, it's not even close. The TEAM altered the decision away from it. End of story.

                We know that how?

You a fly in the room?

Nobody on this forum promotes corners more than me. I think an elite corner is more valuable than tackles.

Nobody on this forum was more positive about JPjr than me.

NEVERTHELESS, EVEN I said BEFORE THE DRAFT that a move up would be for a tackle. It makes WAY TOO MUCH SENSE in a deep corner class with only a couple of elite tackles.

I don’t doubt Tomlins personal feelings about Porter makes him extra happy to have him. I know that is foundational to your assumptions.

But to suggest he would be against getting BOTH a top tackle AND corner for sentimental reasons is silly.

We executed the draft to perfection and some are still bashing Tomlin for what he “may have done” if he had total control.

                              Two simple rules.

                              Good things happen: Not Tomlin
                              Bad things happen: Tomlin
