Jason Kelse says Pgh now has one of the best OGs in the NFL

I'll take it. Give it to the new blood in the FO for making this move. We sure could use it. This moves Dotson/Green the hell out of the way, right? From one of the worst to one of the best.

I'm with you. Excited to see a real O-line this coming season. Being Physical, pushing our will on people. That's Steeler football.

Dotson and Green out. Trubisky, and Harvin to join them.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

He was their best acquisition and the interior of the line has improved overall. The ends remain the weak link until proven otherwise.

Green could stick around as the emergency guy who doesn't dress, but can if everyone ahead of him gets injured. His cap hit is negligible. However, Dotson can save over $2.7M of cap space if cut. He'd better play his ass off this summer, otherwise he will be near the top of the chopping block.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

                    TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

You don't realize Cool Shades influenced who stuck around? Wow, wow. Breaker 1-9, breaker 1-9. What's your 10-20?

Glad they got serious about the OL this year.

You don't often see that kind of glowing praise from an all-pro former teammate...teams don't usually let players like that walk out the door. What makes the Seumalo pickup and all of the other new additions to the offensive line even more promising is the coaching of Pat Meyer. After the job he did last year, it lends me to believe that he's going to get the most out of these guys. I think the confluence of talent, depth, and coaching is going to forge one of the best lines in the league next year. It's nice to have that kind of optimism heading into a season.

It only took them a decade.

They had a very good line until the late 2010's, I just wish they would have addressed it more in the 2021 draft, but that's water under the bridge. Weidl was a great addition to the FO.
