The 12 ain't gonna save us

I can just see how the season will start (or soon after): two TE, "12" personnel, thinking we are gonna "blow minds" with our running and TE passing ability. The game plan will be to rush the ball, leaving us in 3 and short, but it's not gonna work out that way. Instead, it's gonna leave us in 3rd and 6th-8th and an incomplete pass or a pass too short to convert the 3rd down. It's coming. Wait for it. Oh, sure it would be nice (and safe) to be able to move the ball down the field like this, but it's not going to work. And our pathetic 18 PPG will remain, or not increase by much. We may increase our PPG to 20, but at the end of the day, that's basically the same thing.

The Uber rookie TE from GA ain't gonna make that much a difference as the FO thinks.

Something besides a 12 personnel. That's for sure. They are gonna hope for a lot of 3rd and shorts and will end with 3rd and 6's and 8's. The NFL will easily defend the 12, huge rookie TE or not. But you just know Cool Shades is jonzing to trot it out there.

Being 28th in scoring TDs, and offering a paltry 18 PPG, I'd say yes. Do you grasp these concepts? Or do you think we are going to magically "compete" offering these morbid #'s?

Dizzy having to change the subject because he's been buck shot his way out the yard. So, how about the 12 personnel group with our offense that was 28th in TDs for the season last year? How about the pathetic 18 PPG offense from last year? Is the 12 gonna save that? Come on, do tell, Dizzy. Maybe Cam's little bro is gonna save this fart of an offense.

I got to laugh at the posters who don't realize there are anything wrong with this team, the offense in particular. We were 28th in scoring TDs. 28th. What could be wrong there? We scored 18.1 PPG for the season. What could possibly go wrong there. Ummm, you HAVE bothered to look at where playoff teams were in PPG, right?

We got them right where we want them! That 18 PPG is gonna make winning a breeze. Just ask Cool Shades.

Did you happen to watch the latest episode of Big Ben's Seven podcast. Bill Cowher was on. He said that Dan Rooney always told him , Don't forget to run the ball. The Rooney's are old school.

We are going to run the ball whether it be from 12 personnel or the old unbalanced line. When the bus was young and we had Faneca, I watched us run 12 straight runs with Bettis. The same exact play. We closed out a game against the Bengals at Paul Brown stadium. They had 9 men up in the box but we had beaten them into submission. That is the Rooney/Steelers style. Get ready because that is what we intend to do.
