    Will Steelers Buck the Trend?

Now that they have the TEs will the Steelers do what other teams are not (running more 12 personnel)?

I believe we'll see heavy usage of 12 personnel in the red zone early on. There is where if you have a size advantage with talented TE's who can also play the Y it can really pay off. Should they be successful there in the pre-season and early on I would have to believe it will work it's way into more reps as the season progresses from anywhere on the field.

Maybe we see something similar to the Patriots use of Gronk and Hernandez...before the latter started murdering people

I like what the RAVENS do on Offense (outside of riding on the legs of LJ).
Seems like teams see the same Offenses week in and week out.
Then you play the Ravens and you have TEs & FBs running at you and around you.

Am I mis reading the graph?
Looks like it’s already the 2nd most used formation in the league?

I think in Bens career building a finesse offense is why the playoff wins have been bad. Needed more of a balanced attack between finesse and smash mouth. Not more one way or the other. Other problems were there also, like rebuilding the defense. OL getting older. Injuries to key players and bad plan B. Bens injuries catching up to him also. Should have went back to smash mouth quicker as Ben got older. It’s not just running the ball it is running it down there throat even when that know it and can’t stop it. Then pop one to George P. down the side line. Lol.
Heck that has happened to the Steelers defense to often. Can’t stop the running game when it matters the most.

                            I agree.

Even really good QBs have trouble when they have to throw 50 times a game.

I'm not a believer that "when you throw the ball 3 things can happen and 2 of them are bad". But I think that defenses tend to figure things out if you throw too much and give up on being 2 dimensional.

I keep going back to 2017 when the Steelers came closest to a balanced offense. It's just a shame the QB had one of the worst 1st quarters in his playoff history. Since that season they were badly lopsided to passing. But that is only part of the story because they got worse and worse at running, so it ended up that passing was their offense.
Last season was a glimmer of hope.... their most balanced offense in a decade and they put together a bunch of wins.
It only makes sense. If an offense does only one thing well, and the defense shuts it down, it's game over. KC's offense is a lesson in adapting to win.
