Out of the blue surprise at #17

There is a high probability that the CB and OT the Steelers would want will be gone by #17. If that is the case, who is that wildcard pick, that no one is talking about and surprises everyone? I think this is what Shazier was when we selected him.

For me it is Drew Sanders, LB, Arkansas. Sanders has the ability and experience to play both Edge and Inside LB...both needs. He has the athleticism to finally be the guy who can realistically do what Shazier did for us

For the fans who have their head stuck in the clouds thinking N Harris is good, it's a surprise replacement.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Calijah Kancey (they loved Aroon Donald, and Calijah has a very similar style of play)... Nolan Smith, he will try to move him to ILB.

If we stay at 17 there are a number of players who could be selected not thought of as possible 1st rounders much for us.
Sanders , VanNess, Smith although he has stated he's an edge he is very good, D Jones just to name a few. Sorry Joel no Robinson although he is a very good talent. Banks, Murphy Q Johnson all could be considered.
IMHO we may be able to move back a few spots n still get anyone of these players at say 20 or 21and fill a few mid round picks that we don't have now.

Kancey would be a surprise. The Steelers look for “long” defensive linemen. CK would be an out of the box pick. Perhaps Weidl is willing to look for a different type
