I hope … that will push another good line prospect down to us.

He might. The man is a talent ( B Robinson ) He also might go to New England or Houston. The internet mock are often slow to reflect the real value of players.

I do not think I gave up too much in the mock draft. If it makes anyone feel better we have the 2nd round pick next year as well.

The Steelers trade down in round with new England getting our their first round pick and Steelers gaining New Englands 46th ( 2nd round ) ( 76th ) 3 round and 4th round ( pick 107th ) pick. And next years 2024 2rd round pick.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

          This gives us this year:

          2nd round pick #32
          2nd round pick # 46
          2nd round pick # 49

          3rd round pick # 76
          3rd round round pick # 80

          4th round pick # 107
          4th round pick #120

          7ht round pick #236
          7th round pick # 243

          We select:

2a) OT D Jones - A huge RT with gigantic hands, long arms, and muling ability. Did not give up a sack last year.

2b ) ILB J Campbell. A 3 down ILB. Can shed blocks and tackle, cover, and is very smart and a leader.

2c ) CB Philips. A nickel corner with great feel and smarts for the game, and great play making ability. Has 9 career interceptions, 4 of which for scores.

3 a ) DT / NT Dexter. An active and big player who gets a lot of tackles and is hard to move. Not a traditional NT.

3b ) QB Benett. Showed a good arm velocity at the combine. Quick as a cat. Hard to sack. Mobile enough to make the defense pay. Tough and accurate. SEC battle tested

4a ) G Vohress. A super strong player who can block on the second level. Got hurt as the combine so he falls to us.

4b ) S Brown. A very productive player who fills the stat sheets. More than the sum of his parts.

7 A. P Turk Has a big leg. Good hang time too.

7B ) ILB Heyward. An active type who made plays all over the field. If the name looks familiar yes he is related to iron head.
Does anyone have the old Jimmy Johnson chart? I think we got enough in the trade downs ( TWO 2's this year and next ) , a 3rd and 4th) in exchange for our 17th pick.

I wonder if with Kahn, do we still "run" up to the podium to make our picks, like we are so super smart and "know" how great our picks are without any question? That hasn't been the greatest look, really. How "genius" do we look after taking Bush so high? Run, run up there!

Joel - Tomlin is 19-18-1 in last 38 games played and hasn't won a playoff game in six years and counting. Nor had hired anyone good to his coaching staff.
So you're saying Cool Shades has a winning record the last 38 games. Excellent. That's all I needed to know. Wooooooo, whooooooo!!! So, he hasn't won a playoff game in 6 years. He hasn't had a losing season! Cool Shades in the best head coach in the league. Have you seen him twirl his whistle?

That nothing. Have you seen him do his Stevie Wonder imitation? I haven't seen a head coach in control of the action. No play charts and or side line coaching. It not perfect though, Stevie does not chew gum, it makes it hard to him to communicate and sing.

It would be impossible for him to blend in at the border, we should send a smaller guy.

That would actually be a very good draft, but not sure we trade out of Round 1. Probably the best so far

I don't think they need Stetson Bennett and may instead get another WR

On Robinson the NFL may be rethinking the value of backs. The quality Running backs has been lower than normal historically speaking. You have heard of duel threat QB's, right?

I suggest a new football term. A tripple that RB. That is a RB who can run inside our outside well, and is a danger/ threat as receiving back. That is B. Robinson. Harris is a single threat RB who doesn't run outside well and is not a danger / threat as a receiver. He is our starter now. Are you happy with his play, his low 3.9 yard per rush , lack of receiving threat ( low yard per catch ) and limited amount of 15+ yards plays? I say he is a bad starting RB.

I'm telling you Harris needs to be re-placed!

Funny what a difference a week makes, but.... given how a few days of free agency played out thus far, it's clear to me now that their focus is protecting their QB of the future.

If any movement happens in the 1st, the *most likely* trade is trade up to secure one of the high end LT.

Yes, free agency moves fast. Cross of Guard from the mock draft list. I'll take Safety Jordan Battle instead in round four.

This year's team is so active in FA this year, you have to revise your mocks every 2 days - lol

                              Any support for this?

The league has been devaluing RBs for a pretty long time now.

The position chews them up so very few of them get big second contracts. And the ones that do generally disappoint.

We won't replace Harris until after his contract (or maybe the 5th year option and a tag).
