LOL I was going to post something similar but I think that this says it all.

Mick's Team, a poster who has been on the forum for 15 years but only posts when there is really something noteworthy to say.

I have also been on this forum since around the beginning, and this is the dumbest thread - BY FAR - in all this time.

Ruthlessberger was one of the best posters on this board. The fact that you made yourself such a PITA (Pain in the A__) that he left is why so many want nothing to do with you...even on those occasions you say something meaningful

It's not something to put a medal on your chest for. Everytime someone good leaves this board it hurts us all because it increases the ratio of those here seeking affirmation or here only to sow chaos

Ehhh I’m calling BS. Ruthless seemed like a good dude but if he left because of one poster that’s pretty weak. I suspect Ruthless had many reasons to leave including issues with ownership (or so the rumor goes) and SM was just the straw that broke the camels back.

I remember reading some theory that people who are chronically argumentative online are really just angry and emotionally arguing with themselves, a parent, a partner, or friend.

I give everyone a pass online because people aren’t having an actual real time conversation and getting real time feedback. They’re communicating with a keyboard and most folks aren’t great writers/readers and lots of intention gets lost in the written words and probably never aligns with anyone’s intent.

Just think about how many people miss attempts at sarcasm or humor.

There was a study one time that people think the stuff they type is an order of magnitude funnier than the people who read their stuff.

Whatever is said, I generally think everyone’s likely a fine person in real life.

Unfortunately all people are online and have real emotions and react accordingly. The whole thing is exacerbated by the fact that so many men no longer have jobs and a huge % of men are now living single without a partner and genuine emotional connections. And for whatever reason, men without jobs and without friends are a big societal problem. Not that that is the issue here.

Whatever it is, people just want and need to feel appreciated and part of the collective.

For whatever it’s worth, I appreciate everyone. And no matter what you may think of one another, I’m sure you mean well and/or are doing your best.

And I would suggest not over reading into things. Get away from the computer, get some more fresh air and sunshine, take a walk, get some positive endorphins going, hug your dog, whatever.

Heck just fake a smile or laugh out loud and even if it’s forced, your emotions will become positive and real eventually.

Ruthlinsberger had a big public thread argument with Steelz09 that he , of course lost. To me , that was what really made him leave. But who’s to say he’s really gone?

I actually spoke with Ruthless just before he decided to leave and yes, he took issue with the owner of this board calling Tomlin a janitor.

but he told me point blank the biggest reason he was leaving was because of you as he was tired of your constant bullsh!t.

this thread you started paints a very accurate picture of what Ruthless was referring to, you driving him away was a huge loss to this board as he was a great poster and an even better person.

Ruthless seemed like a good dude and was a solid contributor. But let’s be real, none of us are so valuable that people need to defend our honor long after we leave. I wouldn’t let any poster drive me from a place I enjoy. And while having Ruthless here made the place a bit better I frankly didn’t even notice he was gone until it was mentioned awhile back. People come, people go for various reasons. I’m good with it. I miss AngryAsian and RPM but they have moved on. I don’t feel a need to punish the members who may have hurt their feelings.

When someone takes pride in another person leaving and brags about it years later.. its a telling sign of a person’s behavior.

and I think you notice because you show up in threads to tell people the back and forth’s are ridiculous.

Ruthless used to do that and folks respected his ask for better behavior.
