No you cant get someones ip address from a private message, it is invisible. The only way to do it is to attach a link to web page that you control and have the person click it. The only ways you can view someones ip address on a forum like this is:

1. You own or moderate the site
2. The owner of site gives it to you
3. You are law enforcement and have a search warrant
4. You are an incredibly skilled hacker.

I would love to know why it's so funny. You and others are suggesting there is a way to be black or act black. Me suggesting there is a way to act white is equally ridiculous. Using your logic there's a way to be white and a way to be black. There are stereotypes and some people fit said stereotypes. Others do not. You and some others are suggesting there are universal traits and knowledge all black people know or do. What I have noticed from my life experience is that it's more socioeconomic and location based than it is about race. I'm guessing not every black person could answer the questions Deville proposed, keep their kitchen lights on, or have a phobia of the front item on a shelf.

I don't know a way to see an IP without being a mod or owner. I do know the mods can certainly see IP addresses. I also know some of y'all need to stop posting from work lol. I also know the ownership of this site has specific views (let your imagination run wild) and it's why certain behaviors are tolerated. It wouldn't shock me a bit if ownership was one of the "trolls".

You can determine a persons ip address if you receive a PM from them. It just takes a little bit of time, if you know what you're doing. Now, I'm not saying that Maniac checked ip addresses this way but it is possible. It's also possible that 2 people could be using the same VPN and they get misidentified as having an alias. Also there are some internet providers who assign all customers in a location the same static ip address. So for example if Lemming went back to visit family in Hawaii and he logged into the forums at that location both he and HS could possibly show up as the same address. But this doesn't explain how Maniac came to his conclusion that Lemming and HS are the same person.

The best way for a forum to identify multiple aliases is not through identical ip addresses as that way produces false matches. If the forum really wants to solve the problem then matching the serial numbers of operating systems is the most accurate way to determine an alias match.

Posting from work is flirting with danger in todays cancel culture. If I had an employer there is no way I would take the chance. Luckily I work from home creating content, managing YouTube channels, creating eBooks, websites and online courses etc.

It is possible that Maniac could have received information from a moderator about matching duplicate addresses. I'm not saying this is the case in regards to Lemming and HS. I don't believe for one second that those two are the same person. Besides Lemming did send me a pic of himself from Albertsons Stadium in Boise, so I have definitely have no doubr he resides in that city.
