    Pff's top 100 fa

First of all I hate PFF, but the list looks legit.
We look at the 200 best players set to hit the free-agent market this offseason with free agency less than a week away.

    Few names got my attention...

TE Moreau ( loved him coming out in the draft, line him in 12 sets, better over all that Gentry)
ILB Pratt ( looks like the Bengles have way too many FA)
    ILB TJ Edwards
    ILB Edmunds
    DL Ioannidis

There appears to be a few interesting C/G as well.

    22. CB CAMERON SUTTON, PITTSBURGH STEELERS

Contract Projection: Three years, $25.5 million (8.5M per year); $15.5 million total guaranteed

Sutton quietly continued to excel in a Pittsburgh coverage unit that was otherwise very exploitable this season, with 2022 being just his second season as a full-time starter on the outside. Sutton signed a two-year, $9 million deal in 2021 that he outplayed in 2022, earning a 71.0 coverage grade and allowing just 411 receiving yards — the ninth fewest among cornerbacks with at least 400 coverage snaps on the season.

Sutton’s versatility as a defensive back who can still line up in the slot when called upon provides added value for interested teams, as well.

    14. CB JAMES BRADBERRY, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Contract Projection: Two years, $24 million ($12M per year); $16.5 million total guaranteed

We wrote earlier this year about potential candidates for extensions before the 2022 season concluded, and Bradberry found himself on that list because of a great start to the year. His 46.0% completion percentage allowed was the fourth-best mark among cornerbacks for the 2022 regular season, and his 19 forced incompletions ranked second.

Bradberry is likely best as a No. 2 after years of proving himself as a reliable No. 1, but there should be a huge market for his services nonetheless, as he’s proven to be adaptable, reliable and available throughout his NFL career. This season marked his fourth consecutive campaign with 1,000-plus snaps.

These two men. Cut the dead weight one cap.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

For CBs with at least 50 targets against Sutton was #2 in the NFL in completion % allowed at 41.3%. He was just behind Bradbury at 35.6%. Sutton also allowed 4 TDs, Bradbury allowed 2 (on 10 more targets).

        Clock is ticking on a Sutton deal;
The Pittsburgh Steelers are fighting the clock before more dead money is added to their salary cap.

Report: Steelers Have Week to Re-Sign Cam Sutton
The Pittsburgh Steelers are fighting the clock before more dead money is added to their salary cap.
        NOAH STRACKBEIN42 MINUTES AGO

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are counting down the clock before they lose money and let cornerback Cam Sutton walk into free agency for the first time in his career.

According to former NFL agent Joel Corry, Sutton's contract is set to void five days after the Super Bowl, meaning he officially becomes an unrestricted free agent on Friday. With that, the Steelers will also lose $2.1 million that they added to the end of Sutton's last deal.

Sutton signed a two-year, $9 million with the Steelers last time he was set to hit the open market, but the team added voids years to help keep their salary cap down.

Therefore, Pittsburgh now has five days to work out a new deal with their star cornerback before his $2.1 million payout becomes dead cap for the Steelers.

The Steelers can obviously continue to negotiate with Sutton during the offseason in hopes of re-signing him. Coming off career-highs in interceptions (3) and pass deflections (15), Pittsburgh seems to have Sutton at the top of their free agency list, and Sutton has made it known he'd like to return as well.

"I'm not a guy always being on the move, I just want to be around," Sutton said at the end of the season. "Like I said, I feel like I've established a lot here, seeing so much ball year in and year out, and just a comfortability of the guys in the system."

According to Spotrac, Sutton's market value this offseason is in the range of three years, $22.9 million, with an average salary of $7.6 million per season. That would make him the 30th-highest-paid cornerback in the NFL, right above his former teammate Mike Hilton.

The Steelers are already looking for ways to clear cap space as they currently sit with roughly $1 million in available cap space. However, they could cut players like William Jackson III and Mitch Trubisky to clear over $10 million.

PFF has no visible agenda and uses various data that others do not. I have the same question, why does Steeler George hate them?

I'm a little surprised to see Tremaine Edmunds only 25th on the list. Normally, I wouldn't even consider him an option for Pgh to sign but IF we re-sign his brother again, then we'd have the cutsie brother factor to consider as in play, plus we actually could really use an upgrade at ILB and, unlike some other cutsie brother signings, he would actually upgrade the team's starting line up.

I can't even find the other SS Edmunds on a list!

What NFL free agents are still available? Here are the top NFL free agents right now and landing spots for each of them.

What is his ranking? Marcus Allen is on this list but not Edmunds. He IS a FA, right?

Any way, if we sign one Edmunds, we might sign the other, because Cool Shades loves nepotism and cutsie brother signings. It's one big "we are fam-i-ly" in the locker room.

I love what they want to do, "stats", but somehow their metrics and measurements seem bit off, and they use their "stats and numbers" to twist/mislead information.

Then again I am no expert.

Terrell Edmunds is not even listed in the top 100 FAs. I thought his improved play would make the market more suseptable to signing him but I'm not sure it is. Who would've of thought a former 1st round pick in his prime would garner such little interest.

that is surprising. Hopefully we sign him back on a fair deal for both. I do hope we at least look at a FA for ILB Edmunds would definitely be an upgrade.

to me Cam is a must sign

I don't know that we will be able to sign Cam - a top 20 FA - AND Edmunds, a top 25 FA, both. We probably have to settle for one or the other, or neither. I don't see us affording both, especially since we are not legit contenders in 2023.

we can certainly be contenders in 2023! fix the lines. admittedly it will be hard to sign Sutton and both Edmunds brothers but not impossible.

the time to be aggressive is while KP is still on his rookie deal.
