No... but, if there's another mid-to-late rounder who can develop into a solid backup, I think they'd take a swing at a Dobbs/Rudolph type just in case. *waves at Max Duggan*

would have little sense to then go draft a qb when they were so convinced ben would make a complete comeback.
      no ??

then again. A lack of planning ahead seems to be the norm for this staff.
are you suggesting that you should wait until a player is gone before finding a replacement?

No. But it would be kind of odd.
        no?

if they’re looking for a replacement in April 2020.
why wouldn’t they be thinking about a replacement in September 2019. Right when Ben got hurt and needed surgery.

Dude.. 38 is OLD for a QB.

We traded for Minkah because he’s really good.

We didn’t need to move up to get Hurts, he was there in the second. Whether you want to admit it or not Ben wasn’t getting any younger. Draft Hurts, let him sit behind Ben. Its not rocket science.

Because it was after we had a chance to see Mason wasn’t the future?

Jesus. Sone already knew Mason wasn’t the answer.

follow the team and their thinking. It’s not hard

                Christ.
I knew Ben wasn’t getting any younger.
that’s not what this staff was thinking after the injury and with the trade.

like I said. Their planning is suspect.

there were rumors of some wanting to move on from Ben and Rooney wanting to keep him.

most of us are suggesting they messed up by not drafting Hurts.

not sure why you keep hounding people about the idea of drafting a QB to replace Ben a few years earlier.

                    Oh bull****.

the rumors were coming out his last offseason. Before that they were all in on Ben coming back.
why trade a potential top 10 pick if he wasn’t.

                    again your timeline is off.

ps. Minkah was already in the dog house after 1 year in Miami. If he was a great player performing well he would have never been on the trade block

He was still playing at a torrid pace in 2018. Just maybe they listened to the doctors who gave them a positive prognosis for a full recovery? If the docs said he had an 90% chance to return to form, then maybe that's how they planned to go forward. Just because the plan didn't work does not mean they didn't plan.

No.. we all know the timeline. What most are saying is the Steelers made a mistake by not drafting Hurts who was available in the second.

Why is that so hard to digest?

we're actually on the same page here. its not me you have to try and convince the above happened

soo why would they use a 2nd round pick on a QB like some are suggesting when they haven't even seen what a post injury rehabbed ben looks like?

drafting hurts would have meant they weren't doing what they planned
