    Thoughts of trade up?

    Lot of free time here!

Would you trade up using the 17, 32 to select the best DT ( Carter) in the draft?

I think I would love to make this move and have this D... (My splash FA move in Green)

    base 3 safety set

    Carter-Adams-Heyward
    Watt- Edumunds-Highsmith (3-4 would be Spillane-Robinson)
    Sutton-Levi/Witherspoon
    Fitz-Edmunds-Kazee

I like that we have 3 picks in the top 2 rounds.

So is he really hesitant to make that trade.

We have a lot of holes to fill imo

      Great question Steeler_george...

If Will Anderson and Jalen Carter are generational players and the price is only our 17 and 33, I agree.

But only if we are talking about a player who will mark an era...

No, we have holes to fill. We got burned the last time we traded up too.

If anything, this is a year to trade back at 32 if the right offer comes along.

personally, I would stay at 17 and 32.

Not for a guy who would only play 50% of the snaps at best, he is a run stopper, not a pass rusher.

If there were a Sauce Gardner type I'd trade up for that, but as others have stated, with so many holes, we're going to get a good player that can help right away at 1.17.

I like having essentially 2 first round picks and think there could be some interesting players when we pick.

It's still early to know who will be available when but I'd consider Addison, Michael Mayer, or Brian Branch who are 3 guys that I see landing in the middle of the 1st round so far that I think are unique talents.

And all 3 feel like picks that might not jump out as our biggest needs.

I'm not convinced KP has the best receiving options in the world and I think Addison and/or Mayer would change that instantly.

But I also like Branch who always made me think he was the Mike Hilton of the Bama defense. But we'll have to see what we do with Cam, Kazee, and Edmunds.

I gave that thought earlier as well but now I think we need to stay put. Unless a blockbuster trade fell in our laps we have too many holes to fill.

Also, when anyone else disappointed in Carter in the championship game? He may be over drafted a bit.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

I would not trade up. Should be able to snag some good value at #17 and #32.

If anything, might be able to trade back from #17 for a couple of good picks, but I'd be inclined to not move. Will have to see how it all plays out/who is available.

I'd keep our three picks. No guarantee anyone is really going to be a "generational" talent and with our three picks we could get three really good starters.

I'd actually be open to trading down a few spots to add another pick

I’d trade up for a sub 6 foot linebacker for sure

                      I wouldn't make that trade.

To me, as much as DL is a need, I view LT and CB as the top 2 needs and I would only make that trade for a generational talent at one of those positions. I don't see that player at LT, and I see many solid CBs in this draft.

I'd be more likely to trade back to give more options at all three positions as well as an ILB. If the Steelers can land a top OL, DL, CB, and ILB in the top 75 then (if they have done a good job identifying talent) this team is well on its way to a huge leap forward, and still some picks left over for WR, IOL, S etc.

Free agency will be key to what we do in the draft. Not a popular position, but I think DL and ILB are bigger priorities than OL. Our OL got better as the season went on...our DL and ILB got worse.

A couple of our DL getting long in the tooth
ILB definitely needs upgraded, been banging this drum for awhile
still would love to see a stud LT added, and maybe see what Moore could do at LG or as a swing OL

No... we have way too many needs to trade up. We need to hit on our first 3 picks. Those first 3 picks have to be starters in my opinion.

We bargain basement shop usually in free agency. And more times than not, they really are not anything significant. Now granted, we have a new GM and crew but I'll have to see it to believe it as far as free agency being used in a significant way.
