    The Greatest Pass ever...

NFL Films ranks Terry Bradshaw's game-winning 64-yard TD bomb to Lynn Swann in Super Bowl X as the "Greatest Throw of All Time." I couldn't agree more.

It had all the elements of the toughest throws: It came on the biggest stage under a relentless pass rush; it was a deep pass (soaring more than 60 yards in the air) placed perfectly over the shoulder of a well-covered receiver. And it made the Steelers champions.

After the NFL Films segment, I've added footage of the play from the original game broadcast of the game.

Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

Bradshaw was one tough SoB to step up into that throw in that era. Skirts my ass.

I think it's probably because I didn't see that one live, but I think this is the best throw of all time. Where did they have it on the NFL films list?

Me neither. Terry and the offense saved our bacon in a few Super Bowls.

Bradshaw’s 73 yard TD strike to John Stallworth in Super Bowl XIV was another really good one.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

Hit in full stride. I like it better than the one to Swann.

Swannys bounce to self while falling added drama to the catch.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

That's the one I thought of when I read the initial thread subject.

                  shoot

terry might be able to have his own top 5/10

2 to stallworth in SB 14

                  the one above to swann

TD to a leaping swann in SB 13

deep sideline throw to swann tip toeing the sideline in SB 10

the long swann tipped pass around the cowboy DB

I know some of y'all won't want to hear it but

                    Bradshaw > Ben

                    My opinion.

Don’t be so hard on Ben; he had …. never mind.

I think it's hard to compare much before and after cap and UFA.

                          Both were great.

A QB can make the same throws in week 5 and its a cool highlight for a week.

Make them in a SB and you become a legend.

This is the only real criticism one can make of Ben when comparing the 2. Outside of the last drive vs AZ he doesn’t have any real highlights in his SB wins unfortunately. Maybe the pass to Hines after the scramble but Bradshaw’s SB sizzle reel is white hot.

I think its simply comparing plays made in SB’s. Doesn’t really have anything to do with FA.

While Bradshaw played with the same guys this is more about splash plays. Ben has tons in the regular season and the playoffs in his career, but he just didn’t have many great plays in his SB’s.

if Ben gets a little more on that pass to Wallace in the SB vs GB I could see that being the best pass ever if we won that game.
