Dude, they went to get Baker at some point...

If I have a coach that i know is capable of taking a sufficiently talented team to a SB - and did that just a season ago, getting rid of him seems silly (barring some personnel conflict)

And given Mason and Duck started so much those with half a brain were good with the performance. Those who simply hated Tomlin called for his head, as they do annually with virtually zero reasonable justification...

I saw one media outlet (with no vote) who wanted Tomlin for coach of the year this year.
Meanwhile, those who hate him want him gone because "another year of mediocrity", with zero consideration for how they performed vs what the expectations were - we KNOW the team isn't as talented as it could be, and squeezing wins out of that?

That is as cowardly as it gets brother.
Maybe S Payton is his new mentor?

I agree that it would be silly for the Rams to get rid of McVay. But I don't think that losing Stafford is necessarily the reason that they have a bad record.

Stafford played games 9 games. His record was 3-6.

When he went down for the season (week 11), the Rams were 3-7. Side note: At the same point in the season, the Steelers were also 3-7 with a combination of Mitch and Kenny...and what I assume was a harder schedule (but I didn't look).

It certainly sucks for them that Stafford got hurt. But their win% really any better with him (0.300) than without him (0.285).

It looks like McVay is trying to jump ship. Or maybe trying to renegotiate an existing contract for the 2nd year in a row to get more money.

McVay and Payton are smart guys with the "offensive guru" moniker. But it seems to me that they know that the QB is much more important than the HC.
