Growing up , in front of us...

Don't know if KP is "thee" next heir to the throne but he is showing promise. Either way, this very young team is growing before us.

    Ravens are next....

Pickett was 7-9 for 75 yds on the game winning drive.

Hmmm... Maybe because Pickett was playing meaningful downs during his fifth year of eligibility, like SOMEONE said... So I don't compare his performance to any ROOKIE QB... I compare him to, say Trevor Lawrence... In full disclosure, I am a staunch "Never-Trever"-er, so I think he hitches his wagon to the Jax-bell-cow RB, Etienne...

It was good to see him finish strong.

I've been pessimistic whether KP is 'the guy' but he showed me something last night with the final drive. Prior to it, he was a little MT-like in the passing game.

Did he tell Canada to F off and take over playcalling on the last drive like some say BR did last year?

Anyway, first game-winning drive in his pocket. Congrats KP!

It's amazing, every time they need to move the ball they seem to go to the middle of the field and they can actually generate some offense.

It was a lot of checkdowns, but that TD was a great throw. He checked down most of the night. I think our offense is just too simplistic and it's so late in the season that there's a lot of film, and defenders are just waiting at spots for our receivers.

It sure seems like it. Or like an announcer said after the game, why wait until late in the game to be creative with play calls? Play the whole game like that! I think our coaches are too afraid of turnovers so they play close to the vest all game long and see where things stand late in the 4th.

That was truly a beautiful throw to Pickens to win the game. One of the best quick decisions and throws I've seen from Kenny. To do it on that stage, in the frozen cold was impressive. I'm very happy for him.

It's got to make one wonder: Is it the QB who suddenly "get's it" late in the game, or is it the coaching staff who finally opens up things when they really need to score. I'd say it's the staff. And I think that coaching so scared is gonna cost us more than it's gonna win us games. Why is it that Ben only seemed to be able to score late in the 2nd half most of his career under Cool Shades? And now, a completely new QB and it's the same way. No passes to the middle except when the game is finally on the line. Why wait so long? Why coach in fear?

Kenny Pickett played well because of the cold and the brutal conditions. I went out earlier in the day and I thought to myself "How can people play football in this" I bet a little on the games; so I knew the under 38.5 would be the play and there was no way, the teams could have prolific offenses that night.

I know the term "checkdown" has become this negative thing to say, but Pickett hit the intermediate passes well most of the time. The offense possessed the ball. It is not easy to move, run or throw in that type of cold. Big Ben, in his 18th season, would have been praised for winning in those circumstances that way, but a rookie with less than year of starts is criticized, I must disagree. And The Steelers will not be drafting another QB in the first round, Maybe NE will need to.

$$$ post. Remember, some people want Canada fired and others weren’t fans of the KP pick so they are extremely critical of his play.

The INT was a terrible decision but overall KP played a good game. Fans want fantasy stats and long passes.

That TD pass was clutch as hell.

I brought up the checkdowns, in general don't have a problem with them and glad he did them to Najee at the end. In general, though, on 3rd and 9 a 2-yard checkdown is useless.

Najee and Warren should always be available underneath.

He went check down far too often. They won't beat any good teams with such play. Pgh has established they can beat some of the worst teams in the league, but nothing more. Not yet, not with this woeful offense.

wish he made the decision to check faster to Najee and Warren. People are downplaying the conditions last night IMO. A lot of Carr’s ball’s were coming out funny as well.
