    Defense Improving

Still need to beef up pass defense, but overall not shabby. The Steelers need a #1 CB to truly compete with the likes of BUF, CIN, KC:

(note: this is defense so (-) EPA is better)

Thanks for posting this. Are the red lines league averages? Maybe it's clear from watching the games, but I would have thought we were worse at past defense than we are at run defense versus League average.

    D-line and ilb biggest priority?

I'd also like a great CB as you are saying.

      Red line = league avg

Teams are trying to run on the Steelers (13th in attempts against). Having more success passing though.

I agree that the Steelers need a true shutdown DB. This would change the face of the defense as much as Watt. If we had Woodson in that secondary the Steeler D instantly becomes a top 5 D.
        Trolls are people too.

A great corner is needed for sure. I think we're also going to need a run-stuffer.

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas.

And if we had a James Harrison, Jack Lambert, Joe Green and Carnell Lake, we'd be set.

              I get it now.

When you said negative was better, I didn't realize they inverted the axes so that higher negatives are on the right (top).

I was thinking lower left was the best quadrant for D.

              But it's still upper right?

I guess I should read the graphs more carefully.

this is also a really high year across the league at rushing. Teams are averaging very high numbers in YPC because not many do 3 yards and a cloud of dust any more, passing has opened it up for runners.

Some guys are averaging 5 or 6 per carry, and these aren't flukes for guys with minimal touches. These are guys like Tony Pollard who took over the 'boys, Aaron Jones, Travis Etienne, Nick Chubb...
