He’s been fine since day 1.

I just think he needs to find the line between making plays and avoiding mistakes and it seems like he keeps getting closer.

It would also really help if someone other than Pickens and Muth would make the more difficult catches for him. Watching some other games this weekend, it's so helpful when a QB can rely on receivers to make contested catches, fight for the ball, come back to the QB, etc.

It would also be helpful if we had better plays and play calling. It looks like a different game watching some of these other offenses making use of the middle of the field.

yeah.. I think a lot of the Pickett criticism has been over the top. We see him trending in the right direction.

            Agreed on the play calling/routes.

The most frustrating is why they can run slants to DJ and put him in position to run after a catch.

He’s so frigging quick and should be picking up big YAC especially with Kenny hitting him in stride. This should be a no brainer.

It's beyond frustrating. Every pass (almost) is for the sideline or on a curlback route.

So true about the receivers needing stickum, and the play callers needing to have finished 4th grade.

I actually feel bad for KP8 often. He is doing well, and improving, IMO.

Me too. Maybe a "geeking on stats" thread would be a good thing.

Not in the largest category: wins. Last game illustrated he's not ready to carry this team to wins. That's where Ben excelled. That's what's most important.

That’s fine. Burrow didn’t show he could carry the Bengals to wins his first year either. Most rookie QB’s don’t carry their team to a bunch of wins.

When was the last time we scored 20
points in a half? Its been a while.

I think more times than not if we score 30
points we will most of those games moving forward.

I think its weird to suggest Pickett isn’t a finished product after 6 or 7 games.

I don't think it's inappropriate to bring up the categories of "wins" when the subject of "trending in the right direction" comes up. All those other things are nice, but the trend that comes down to brass tacks are wins. Do you expects a rookie QB to post many? Not usually. Not even with future Hall of Famers. But I'm just saying, the trend I want to see on the rise is wins.

Your favorite QB of all time (Lamar Jackson) started off 6-1 his 1st year, followed up by a 13-2 season his 2nd year. Quite a difference than Kenny so far.

Is it possible for you to post without saying silly stuff?

Lamar had tons of wins to start his career and a lot of people on here still said he was a terrible QB.

Thanks for bringing up Lamar again, actually is a great example of wins not being viewed as a sign of player development.. according to some on here of course.
