KP: "We Need Better Practice Habits"

Is there some cliche about playing how you practice?

A rookie who started just one game is showing leadership.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Amen. Indeed the cliche has some very large truth attached to it. I read the list every week of non participating players from practice. Some belts need tightened and some dirt rubbed on some wounds. Buck up and get after it.

Seems like a QB that won't take slop from his receivers. Gonna be interesting to see who rises as his favorite go-to receiver. (sidenote; I see they worked out a PITT receiver this week so maybe Tomlin is sending a message to that room... good!).

I think KP will get talked to about this. Who runs practice? I like this kid.

Thought the very same thing after seeing yesterday's injury report with a long list of DNPs. Very few should have a 'vet day off'. Some have legitimate injuries (Muth). Others need to suck it up and get their butts on the field.

Love to see this from the rookie. Putting it out there for all to see.

Love everything that Kenny has said and done to this point.

Didn't another player comment about needing to practice better last year or the season before?

I think Chase said they need music at practice.

Yeah it's easy to come to practice and get after it when things are going your way and you're winning. But, I see a growing list of attrition as the losing continues. Couple that with the in-fighting rumors floating around and things aren't looking good. Perhaps 'some' of what Ryan Clark had to say about giving up is true. Like I said, time is now to suck it up buttercups.

We messed up. Kenny should’ve started day 1. He could’ve set the tone earlier IMO.

When people said he needed to watch so he wouldn’t lose his confidence I think you are seeing why I had faith that wouldn’t happen. He might be in for a few more losses but does he sound like a kid who is going to crumble under the pressure?

I actually think it IS easier to come in and practice after getting whooped. My concern was always guys taking it easy after wins with days off or feeling too confident.

Back when I player after a bad loss those were usually the most intense practices. These dudes should be embarrassed.

Roethlisberger said the same thing last season. Guess it fell on deaf ears.

Point taken Dizz, I guess I was looking at it from the perspective of 4 straight losses, and the amount of injuries piling up and folks moping around practice.

Maybe he's the one I'm remembering.

It's nice to have a fresh, new leader in there. Love hearing Kenny wanting to take this bull by the horns. I hope he's the kind of relentless-pursuit-of-perfection kind of person that Brady is. Don't accept mediocrity or laziness.

Losing sucks. Getting beat down is awful. But fans will be a lot more forgiving if we see improvement. Let's start with scoring a few TD's for the love of all that's holy.
