    $60 Mill on the sidelines

Turned to the Chargers game and Bosa is out.. Jags dogwalking them

    The best ability is availability.

I know.. Watt is a beast when available but people love to point out the “highest paid D” while ignoring that Watt is our highest cap hit and he is in street clothes for the next few week which was always my concern with his cap hit.

It doesn't matter felt. Wins and losses as a team only matters. Fans have so many petty discussions on message boards for the sake of discussions. Fans want the same level of play regardless of the reality of the situation.

The Steelers coaches know what they have. For example, MT. While they are attempting to analyze MT and the team's progress they are trying to put the team in a position to win games.

Mistakes through a wrench into the plan. A rookie QB isn't solving this teams problems this year.

this post is about the defense, not the offense.

Maybe not, but I don't see how he can make them worse. And he's likely not going to improve his game sitting on the bench.

The OL is doing better now. Let's put in Pickett and let him develop. I think Mitch has pretty much reached his ceiling.

As far as Watt goes, we're sorta stuck until he is healthy and returns.

The old debate -- are you better off signing one superstar player on D, who takes a huge chunk of your salary cap? Or would it be better to have the 3 or 4 solid players you could have on defense if you weren't paying him?

Pretty obvious that we have no real depth at OLB, or some other positions.

IMO, I believe it's best to have a young QB learn the NFL game off the field. At some point I believe KP will start.

The defense isn't the same without Watt. Just like Steelers teams in the past were not the same without great players. This can be said for every team in the history of the NFL.

I tell you folks that coaches are only as good as the players the coach. Players win games in professional sports. Players win games at any level of sports. Maybe some people will believe me one day???

Trust me, this post has NOTHING to do with Mitch. No idea why he brought him up.

We have enough threads on MT and KP.

yeah.. that was my primary concern with his cap hit. Not sure if it was you but there was one other person who had reservations about his cap hit and how we could get 3 or 4’good players for that price.

Love what Watt beings when healthy but look at the Chargers. Just got waxed by the Jags while Bosa was in street clothes.

Cost of doing business I guess.

Feast or famine, and when you're in the famine phase, it ain't much fun

I wasn't in favor of signing Watt to the contract for this very reason. 0-6 without him though. Would having 3 regular players have them at 3-3? Anyone's guess. But one thing I will say, when the Steelers play BAL Watt is worth every penny. He's LJ's kryptonite.

Every time Watt balls out my friend text me to ask if he I still believe he is isn’t worth it

and then 2 games later I unfortunately have a chance to text back and point out why I had concerns about the contract.

You don't know that, if Kenny can find the open guy and deliver an accurate ball, it will do wonders for the team this year.

And if he is able to do it from the jump, it will simply prove how badly Tomlin mis-managed this, which is why I think he's going to do his best to keep him on the bench all year. He's going to go down with the Good Ship Trubisky.

Learn the Canada system from Mitch, both of whom will be likely gone next year? That's the plan?

                              That and the dead money.

It's a lot of cap $$$ not playing right now.

And while the D would be much better with Watt (look at wins/losses with and without him), we still wouldn't win many games scoring 13, 14, and 17 on offense.
