    He doesn’t have IT.

The million dollar question though is Mitch purposely throwing underneath the defense every play going to the first available checkdown because it's his style & his decision or is the play calls from Matt Canada calling for him to do this? You can switch QBS a thousand times & if Canada & Tomlin are purposely calling dink & dunk plays it wouldn't matter if Dan Marino was at QB. I'm thinking it's 80% Canada 20% MT.....and after Mitch missed both long balls against Cinncy i didn't see a one vs NE other than the hail mary.

Something tells me Dan Marino would not have put up with this &*&^%$*.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

Agreed he is rushing his throws in some cases (8th fastest time to throw this week (2.58 sec)). He can't seem to read the defense or he doesn't trust what he is seeing. Both are bad.

btw, this 'throwing short of the sticks and hoping for YAC' isn't just a Steeler thing; there were 17 QBs whose average air yards were short of the 1st down, 8 of these QBs won their games. It can work if the throws are there and the receiver doesn't fall down or go OOB.

fast fact; who leads the Steelers in YAC yards? (Not anyone you would think.)

yup. Its like the bubble screens people hated. Everyone else was doing them as well.

The problem is we have the wrong QB in right now. Give players a chance to run instead of having to dive or combat every catch. Throw it to the right shoulder so they turn away from a hit and not into one..

                  its the little things.

                      Felt,

It's kind of amusing of the role reversal (not the mean intent mind you but the bold fact). I often laugh when I re-read your sig because it is so spot on. But when it comes to this issue you are so staunch about it you don't realize...it ain't gonna change with the current head coach...so what are you gonna do?

Even in Tomlin's PC today...he is exercising patience at the QB position, the o-line is improving and finally this...

Tomlin on Trubisky: “I’ve liked a lot of what he’s done to be honest with you.”

So while I can live without the ball washer motif, I do think your sig applies here as well "Trubisky is gonna start, so what can you do?"

Exactly what the Tomlin haters do - complain about it.

btw, Pitt alum, love Kenny want him to succeed but am realistic about what is going to happen this season.

and to correct myself, GAME 9, week 10... the reason for me choosing the Saints game is because it was after the bye.

IMO, the latter most likely game because not only does it give 2 weeks to prep as a starter, it also gives enough time to fully say Mitch doesn't have "it", even for the slow to come around coaching staff

what i find interesting is i've seen the exercise in patience both referring to the QB... but ALSO referring to the play calling. Imma have to see this presser now.

You could play LaMarr Jackson and have Trevor Lawrence for mop up

OR YOU COULD DRAFT OLs, a NG, DBs and win with MT or MR
                              But NOOOOOOOO!

They don't need to say these things. This is how the Steelers operate.

                                It's usually a good strategy.

But it does mean that you sometimes get the error of waiting too long before making a change.

I think we'll see that with Mitch (if we haven't seen it already).

Honestly, we kind of saw it with Ben last season too. But it's more understandable with a HoF QB.
