MR would be an upgrade at this point. WTH is the coaching staff looking at when evaluating the QBs? Canada's offensive scheme sucks as well. MT is averaging less YPC than Ben did last year.

After today's game, I am sure that Mitch is not the guy to lead the offense. He did make a few good throws; but, did he play badly enough to play himself out of the job? Last game, he needed a five turnover and seven sack advantage to eke out the win. Today, It was a close game without any turnover or sack advantage. So, since the team has made this commitment to him, naming him captain and being so publicly supportive, that's probably enough to still roll with him.

I would still love to see what Pickett would do and feel they will continue to be unproductive offensively with Trubisky. I blame him mostly. not the scheme.

I don't think I'm a stan. But I thought Mitch should have started the season.

But I'm done with the Mitch era.

I think it's probably true that he's not good. Not any different from last year.

Except this year we don't have to keep starting him.

This offense is horrible with Mitch under center.

Maybe it's still terrible with Pickett. But might as well find out.

But we're the Steelers and I think we'll wait a few more weeks. I think Mitch needs a multi-turnover game or we need to be out of the playoff hunt (which will come soon if we keep scoring ~ 14 ppg on offense).

Easy, peasy: Tomlin 86es Canada who isn't Future NFL HOF.

Never blame Mike Tomlin. It's not the Steeler Way. Furthermore:

            That's RACIST.

We tried to tell people Mitch was trash.. lol

What I can’t understand is how some people STILL think we shouldn’t give KP
              a shot.

Met an older couple with Steeler jerseys on and the lady had a Pickett jersey and she was still saying its smart to let KP sit and learn.

              Are these paid actors? wtf.

The worst part of Mitch is his mechanics. In clean pockets he's got happy feet and never sets them to throw. How is this not fixed Day 1 by Sullivan?

I was surprised by how often he's throwing it off his back foot and not stepping into it. Like he's trying to be cute with the "fling".

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

There is ONE scenario that can possibly justify continuing with Mitch. If this is a long game, and the goal is NOT immediate success. We won't win a SB with either and we WILL have a better pick if we stay with Mitch. If Kenny is THE GUY we are an oline away from talent to really contend. Can be fixed in an offseason.

I don't actually think that is what's happening, but it is a potential upside Intentional or not.

That is a terrible plan, especially with Watt and Minkah and the highest paid defense.

I think our FO lacks stones right now..

and the countdown for Tomlin has finally started for me.

Too many weapons on offense to act like Hue Jackson with the QB position. Play the kid and let him sink or swim.

Its almost like they believe if he plays early and has some bumps he doesn’t have the mental fortitude to get better. Look at his time at Pitt. The kid put in the work to get better every year.

Personally, it just feels like they really convinced themselves Mitch could carry us for a season and handcuffed Pickett this preseason because CLEARLY the O looks
                            better with him.

Even when drives stalled with Pickett in preseason you saw passes that let you believe that he would get them next time if given the chance. With Mitch its just grueling.

I fear its time and Tomlin is too old school for todays game. You can’t win by trying not to lose.

I couldn't agree more. Plus, from an earlier post what do they want Pickett to learn from Mitch. He has horrible mechanics and no pocket presence. He is feeling heat that is just not there.

From everything I have read Pickett is a student of the game. That is great. Put him in and let him learn.

I saw a post earlier the players are questioning the calls in the huddle. One, this is never good, and two, this shows no leadership or faith in Mitch.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

What we intended to do was obvious. But that had nothing to do with how they played.

Neither Kenny nor Mason could "beat" Mitch out. Only if Mitch was preseason trash would he not be anointed starter. His job to lose.

Unlike Dizz I did not come in confident in Kenny. HIS preseasn PLAY convinced me as it was darn near flawless. His demeanor was not one of a rookie, it was that of a vet. The bigger the moment, the better his play.

Even when making plays I never got that from Mitch. I came out of the preseason feeling like Mitch was OUR THIRD best QB.

If we did not know better and was asked who was the rookie during preseason we'd all say Mitch.

                                Here is the reality people.

ONE HUNDRED PERCENT OF WHY MITCH GOT THE JOB OR IS EVEN A STEELER IS DRAFT PEDIGREE. He just HAS to be better than he showed as a Bear.

If he was a third rounder, nobody would look to start him.
