Kenny was in the unfortunate and weird position of a 3 way QB competition. Most teams had established starters so the backups were able to get the lion share of reps in preseason.

Pickett made the most of limited opportunities.. and I mean he REALLY made the most of his opportunities to the point people are still questioning if its wise to make him “sit and learn” behind Mitch.

I think its obvious we weren’t really giving Kenny a chance to win he job but he damn sure forced the FO to take notice with his play.

If Mitch is the starter he better bring it because his play this preseason didn’t convince me he is any better than Pickett.

I saw the same old bad habits I saw in Chicago - he's going to infuriate even his most ardent supporters here unless Canada can scheme up easy, wide open reads with no pressure.

But your missing the easy rebutt here; Pickett had a TD% of 8.3. If that actually holds up in the regular season he would have been #1 in the NFL (ahead of Rodgers last season).

YAC last year was hoping DJ or CC could beat five guys on a bubble screen. Kenny is anticipating and throwing guys open with opportunity for YAC.

DK knows KP8 at #1 isn't the Steelers' major need. If he says that, he's done in PGH.

Yes. While Pickett has played it safe and well vs the 2nd and 3rd stringers in the pre-season it means jack because he didn't do it vs the starters and any point in time and played the old Neil O'Donnnel like play it safe type of style that will not lead to many long drives or points. As I pointed out, Pickett did not rate among the top 25 passers in yardage for the pre-seaosn. Its a huge problem.

If Tomlin really wanted to stat the season with Pickett, he would have at least mixed him in with the #1's don't ya think? Not that I'm against the idea of staring Pickett per say because he will be in there sooner later. We need to find out if he can play and he's hasn't shown he can besides the being a check down throw it short and safe type of QB....all the time. Okay Kenny we know you can do that, now can your play like you did last year in the ACC? The Defenses are much better in the SEC and Big Ten and 10X better in the NFL. I have my doubts.

Unless the Steelers are going to trade for a top 10 QB, I don't see what Tomlin is waiting for. Everybody knows Mitch is still practicing with the ones.

Did KP8 play ONLY against 2nd and 3rd stringers, or was there a rotation?? Didn't EmTee also play against 2s and 3s at times?? And EmTee only got FGs...
