I'd try and trade Chase Claypool, Devin Bush and a draft pick for Roquan Smith and Teven Jenkins. Claypool would immediately become the best WR in Chicago and give Justin Fields a young WR to develop with. They can slide bush into Smith's spot and try to rehab his career in a 4-3 defense that asks less of him from a scheme fit. Smith is a no brainer HR for us and Jenkins whom we liked in last years draft can push both tackles while he continues to rebound from last years back issues. The Steelers can slide Pickens into the starting slot that was occupied by Claypool, leaving a corp of DJ, Pickens, Austin, Sims, Gunnar, Boykin. Still a super solid group.

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season. -

I appreciate your out the box thinking. I don’t know if they’d give us Jenkins too but throwing in a third should do it.I'd try and trade Chase Claypool, Devin Bush and a draft pick for Roquan Smith and Teven Jenkins. I like it, and I think could be a fair trade for both parts if we send a 3rd. I don't know what is wrong with Bush, but he seem lost in almost every single play.I'd try and trade Chase Claypool, Devin Bush and a draft pick for Roquan Smith and Teven Jenkins. I would only want to trade for Smith if we could work out a long term deal before the trade.
But dealing from strength (WR) to fix what seems to be a big weakness (ILB and OT) seems reasonable to me.
You have to give up something good to get something good.Comment

Agreed. I'd want a deal done too. I think we could back load it to work.

That’s a lot of dough on the defensive side of the ball in an offensive league.
Something has to be done with Bush though. It’s telling when he’s in a battle with Spillane for the starting job.Comment

I'd do it but even a healthy Bush at his best is not a 4/3 middle. Not near stout enough.I'd try and trade Chase Claypool, Devin Bush and a draft pick for Roquan Smith and Teven Jenkins. In a 4/3 he'd have to be outside. They tend to be small.sigpic
In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

This would be a deal that could potentially put the Steelers firmly in the contender's seat. Barring injuries elsewhere, ILB and OT look like the only two spots that could sink us this year, in my opinion. I agree with NJ and others that the pot would probably need to be sweetened with a draft pick and I am perfectly fine with a 3rd rounder to make it happen. It takes two to dance, but hopefully the Steeler brain-trust is leaving no stone unturned with those positions.I'd try and trade Chase Claypool, Devin Bush and a draft pick for Roquan Smith and Teven Jenkins.
