Love his play and love his energy in interviews. The guy has that swag and I see that with Pickett as well. Pickens is already the man. This O is shaping up to be something special.
Who else loves Gunner?

Love?? yeah.. no.
Personally I didn’t see anything that would make me love him…YET.
First one to catch a TD this year but that was blown coverage.
If anything whoever caught the game winner and broke a tackle to get in the endzone is the WR who should be getting more “love” but I can’t even remember his name, lol.Steelers 27

He's fighting Sims for a roster spot. Either way, if we have to rely on either to make a lot of catches we're in trouble. DJ, CC, GP, PF, and Najee will eat up 90+% of the targets.Comment

Did Gunner return any punts or have any plays on ST’s? I know he had a good night as a WR but the chances of him contributing there are slim this year.
Sims definitely shined as a returner last game.Steelers 27

Doesn't mean we can't still love the guy. Yeah he might have slim chances of making this squad but I love his energy.Trolls are people too.Comment

I’m not telling anyone to stop loving Gunner or “pound their chest” about the way he carries himself
I asked if he made any plays on ST’a because I think that is his best way of making the team because the WR group is pretty deep.Last edited by feltdizz; 08-17-2022, 10:19 AM.Steelers 27

I see Gunner as a player who will be under the radar to big play guys like Pickens, Johnson and Claypool, but will win a couple games for us this season with his contributions as a a returner and receiver. I'm surprised that we haven't seen him or heard about anything as a returner yet. has anyone who has been to practice seen anything?"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"Comment

I'm anxious to see what he can do as a returner. I think he can get us a couple of TD returns this year. And those are TD's that are usually game deciders.I see Gunner as a player who will be under the radar to big play guys like Pickens, Johnson and Claypool, but will win a couple games for us this season with his contributions as a a returner and receiver. DJ, Chase and the 2 rooks are locks.
I think they keep 6 and it's Gunner, Sims and Boykins fighting for 2 spots. There's an outside chance Boykins is the odd man out - unlikely, but outside.2013 MNF Executive Champion!Comment

win a couple games for us? That is a bold prediction. Would love to see it happen since we haven’t seen any splash plays on ST’s since AB left.I see Gunner as a player who will be under the radar to big play guys like Pickens, Johnson and Claypool, but will win a couple games for us this season with his contributions as a a returner and receiver. I think his value as a returner is a given. Thus the focus on his potential value as a receiver is what they are exploring.
I think that he almost certainly will make the team based on his known ability as a return man and his surprising ability to make plays as a receiver when called upon.
I nase that on his performance in the game (not just the one catch) and that I'm hearing he is impressing as a receiver in camp. Add that to his being a proven elite returner.
The only guy who played in the game who is a shoe in was Pickens.
Gunner is next guy who will almost certainly make the roster.Last edited by Captain Lemming; 08-17-2022, 10:45 AM.sigpic
In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

They have good to elite skill position players on O. Biggest question looming is Matt Canada and gameplanning. Unfortunately we won't see it until real football starts. The offense must score more than 20 pts/gm to have a chance at the post season. The first half of games last season were terrible. And lots of people claim it was Roethlisberger's playcalling in the second halves that saved the day. We're gonna find out soon enough how true that might have been.Comment
