It's the physics brother, it's just not the speed, it's the mass x acceleration that generates the force.
I ain't tackling him by myself.
Hell I dont want to tackle 250 running anywhere in the 4's

With any luck you won't, Wiz, but don't push it too hard.

Joel is being ridiculous to the point where he says "He isn't a 4.4 guy, by my eye hes a 4.5 guy" as if anyone watching a guy on tv in pads carrying a football could tell that.
I agree that it's not possible to guess a speed to the tenth of a second by watching without a timer. So I think that part is silly.

But I think his overarching point before this silly part of the argument was that Harris doesn't have top end speed for an NFL back...maybe "breakaway speed" is a better way to put it?

I think that's true based on his play in the NFL and the little I've seen of his play in the NCAA.

But he does lots of other things well (fight for yards, catch out of the back field, blitz pick up, etc.). He's a good back...not unlike Bell in his prime (although their style is different). And maybe the best offensive player on the team at the moment.

This is a debate that I thought died down a week ago.

lmao at waking up and making a brand new thread to get things going.

never knew .15 seconds could bother someone so much.

4.40, 4.45, 4.6 really doesn’t matter that much. Judging by his rookie year, Harris WILL be the next great Steeler RB.

Just look at the greatest Steelers (HOF) RBs.
                    Franco Harris – 4.8
                    Jerome Bettis – 4.7
Even the best Steelers RB in recent memory.
                    Lev Bell – 4.60
And the best Steeler WR in recent memory.
                    AB – 4.56.

its hilarious because Najee could barely get to the LOS without being touched and people are questioning breakaway speed.

Can the man get a few season’s in before being ripped as some slow RB?

When it comes to speed I tend to think it matters most where a player accelerates to reach top speed. Some players accelerate early but lose speed later. Some players stay consistent. Some players have longer speed than others. Some players accelerate later.

In short, it seems some players accelerate at various points depending on different factors.

Some players play faster than other players regardless of 40 times.

                        Najee has NFL speed.

Truth be told 40-yard dash times mean very little if anything in the NFL.
