    "Steelers are the Best Receiving Scouting Team in Football"

    Simms said it.

    Also, Florio says only one of DJ or Claypool will be signed to the second contract. He points to their history with AB and Wallace. I think this is a make or break season for Claypool. Although if DJ regresses with the dropsies it will be a tough call;

    If only one is going to be resigned, make a decision and move the other before the trade deadline. Seeing guys we drafted walk and us get nothing in return is frustrating to say the least.

      The contract situation is a lot different than it was with AB.

      I wonder if we don't sign either. Especially if the new draft picks can play.

      Seems like WRs should be cycled through unless they are elite. 2nd contracts are too high and young guys keep being able to make big contributions.

        Agreed.
        Same goes with rbs.
        How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

          Unless they are really "special" you need to just cycle through and draft new, cheap guys. AB was special, but couldn't contain his cookiness. Hines was worth it, great team guy. Cowher got in trouble with paying too many players top $ and it came back to bite him.

            I’m not so sure about even keeping a ‘special’ player at those positions.
            I think it’s the easiest to replace and contribute right away.
            Unless you are in great cap and roster position, I say trade them and/or spend the money on oline and pass rushers.

                No WR is getting a second contract if the asking price is $20M

                If Claypool's agent was smart he'd go to the front office and say my guy will sign for 4 years/$50M if we get $30M guaranteed. Would cut off option of resigning DJ.

                I'd rather keep Claypool anyway as the big WR. Pickens and Austin will make DJ expendable
