2nd round pick Pickens' character issues

So I kept hearing about his "character issues" and decided to look into what they were. He was thrown out of a game for fighting with a CB in the endzone, and was penalized for squirting water on the opposing QB on the sidelines? What is that you say? huh?

It doesn't seem like the most egregious foul I've ever seen, but man, it sure seems silly and juvenile. Some scouts took them of their boards after interviewing him saying he was, in so many words, an @ss. Colbert said zero character issue concerns. We shall see.

Would you rather see him develop into a superstar or a head case, so you can criticize Cool Shades?

BTW, that was a rhetorical question.

can't have that kind of crap going on, it could escalate out of control

glad they called the UC penalty, probably should have thrown him out of the game

hopefully the veteran players on this team lay down the law with Pickens right away, but it'll probably have to be the defensive vets, since there aren't many older established starters on offense

I'm just not sure what he was thinking at the time. I don't get it.

I went to UT freshman year so I follow them and watched this in real time.

It was funny but also foolish.

I’ve seen worse on the sidelines when guys run out of bounds. Just dumb on his part.

His character is questionable acting but the again it not his work ethic, drugs, and I think his ability to learn based on who he speaks is fine. If was 23-24 I worry about his past. He's 21 folks. A kid when he did these things. Having said that I do suspect some long term diva in him. Hope he grows out of it. Personally I am always somewhat suspicious of QB and WR wearing number #1 in college or the pro's. I'm super excited to have him anyway, his ability and upside is very good.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Squirting water at someone is nothing, it's playful. When I was a boy they made squirt guns and kids would fill them with water and have squirt gun battles. We would also fill balloons with water and bomb each other with water balloons.

I don't think it is an issue at all and just another example of something small being blown up to the extreme.

I listen to Pickens in the interviews and I think he has a good head on his shoulders.

Doesn't seem serous, I am not concerned. Didn't Phil Rivers squirt water on a player in the NFL? No biggie.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

Nothing I've read makes me worried about his "character". He's not out getting arrested or assaulting people. I think it's pretty easy to get a guy to not spray water on someone when you're on the field.

In the words of Tomlin I'd rather have to say 'whoa' than 'sick em'.

I think Pickens might be a guy that needs a whoa now and again. But so did Loyd. So did Harrison. Probably Hines too.

I was lucky that I was a kid when they developed super-soakers, which are clearly the best squirt guns ever.

But my favorite squirt gun was a pump action shot gun. It had a "magazine" full of water. Pump to load, then fire. It was a huge spray of water. It only lasted like 2 or 3 shots, but it was glorious. But that's why the super-soaker was so great. So few mechanical parts to fail (unless you somehow over pressurized the reservoirs...which is probably close to impossible).
