Something about allowing him to become an UDFA would allow him to choose where he wanted to go. And? So what? Is he so valuable that they couldn't risk that? How so? How is that any different than an OT, DL, CB or LB?; all of which were more needed than a 4th string QB.
What is there beyond the numbers? Plenty, like watching the tape. I'd go over it but Felt posted a thread from the Depot where they looked at every fumble. Some are bad snaps, some fumbles are laterals gone bad, some are Pickett's errors. The thing is, I'd rather know what the numbers represent rather than just reporting that he fumbles as if they are all the same and repeatable due to hand size.

I didn't say that he took a shot at drafting another QB in the 7th, I pointed out that he felt in his analysis of the pick he should take another shot at Pickett. Reminds me of people who comment on politics and every issue is an excuse to take a shot at the guy they don't like. After awhile you get to see that they just have it in for the guy and are incapable of reasonable judgment.

      Let's hope he was right!
Kind of makes it seem more likely that the Steelers weren't the only team to see Pickett as the clear best QB prospect.

On Robinson whoever wrote that write up for CBS "he reads his keys in a hurry" wasn't watching the same tape I watched. He is still learning a new position. On pass plays he's a deer in the headlights. It should get better but he went 225 for a reason.
I hope he's a player since he's one of us now but he has a long road ahead of him. A year on the PS will really help him with the position change.

Colbert has emphatically stated this was their guy. They even considered moving up spots to get him. It was certainly one heck of a last 1st round pick - set them up for the future or set them back many years.
We are in a transitional period at key spots. And as such , it really does come down to weather Pickett is legit or not.

The wildcard is Trubisky ( who I think wins the job initially) . If we get good qb play from somewhere, then Pickens selection looks even better. Trickle down effect. We are just in a “ wait & see” mode right now.

Gonna be the most interesting camp in years.

Here's a positional breakdown of the draft compared to past seasons. While year to year can vary with supply/demand this makes it pretty clear that it's a passing league (and defending the pass).

Amen to that. Really looking forward to it. I think Mitch will win the job but get pulled before Halloween if he's just a game manager and the offense is struggling to score.

I am a Trubisky fan and have been since he came out. Not his fault where the Bears drafted him and the mess Matt Nagy created. I do think Trubisky is our starter for most of this season, but the reality is with Pickett being a 1st Round pick the clock will be running

Making plans for Latrobe for the first time in a number of years. It'll be worth the drive to see the QB battle let alone the DL and secondary.
