Ravens get Linderbaum and Hamilton, Steelers are firmly in the basement of the North.
Honestly, I see 1 year in the cellar - I think Tribusky starts this season, Pickett finishes it and the team goes around .500. The team would find itself sitting in the mid-teens for the next draft and able to find an impact whatever they need.
For round 2, I'd honestly like to see a move to go get Travis Jones - I think the drop off between him and the next NT is bigger than any other position of need. Plus Alualu is 34.
In other words, Edmunds is sufficient. Not great but, clearly would be cheap next year and an acceptable starter.
Looking at the WR, we're looking at a #3. I don't see a 2nd rounder that's signifcantly better than the 3rd rounders.
Is a McCreary going to beat out the other guys ?
Pickett is starting day 1.
Mitch is the backup
Mason is moving on
I think you're 0/3 on this one
Barring injury I think we see this in week 1.
Mitch
Pickett
Mason
I think Pickett sits at the beginning of the season. I think Mitch will look better in the preseason than Kenny will...Ben was supposed to sit his whole first year.
If we still had Haskins, I think it would have been reasonable to trade Mason. But I can't imagine that Mason has much trade value, so having a guy who you know is at least a low-level starter at #3 is probably a reasonable thing to do.

Seriously doubt Mason sticks around as a #3. He will request a trade or release and ww will grant it to him.
Pickett is winning the job in camp.
Ben was sitting about a starting QB. Mitch hasn’t done anything to make anyone believe he is a lock to start the season.
Fans were just hoping Mitch is some guy he has never been just because he changed teams a few times.

I think the big problem is - "game speed" as a rookie. I think coaches give the keys to Mitch for that reason. Simply to not set pickett up for failure. I expect to see a Tommy Maddox - Big Ben thing...
Love that you have supreme confidence in the rook.. moreover, if they don't improve the line a little more, I'm not sure that I want him out there just yet. let the Mitch take the multi-million dollar butt whippin until the line gels

We are trying to win now. If Mitch started somewhere last year I would agree but the guy threw like 4 passes last year.
Unless Mitch turned into Josh Allen I don’t see our FO waiting if Pickett proves he is ready.
and people keep bringing up Ben sitting his first year but that was 17 years ago.. and Ben going 15-0 pretty much proves that making a guy wait isn’t always the best idea.

Trade him? Okay, for what? A 6th or 7th round pick, deal! I'm dreaming, teams won't want his $4 million dollar cap number! We were fools to give him that. You're are right, he's going to be cut. His cap # is high too

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.
Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.
*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***
