No on the following positions in round one

QB ( by trading up )
    RB
    TE
    OG
OT ( we just gave Chucks too much money )
    OLB
    S
    P
    K

That means the first pick should be spent on C, QB, WR, DT/NT, ILB, or CB.

We don't CB's well, so take that one off the list.

We need to match value with need.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

If we don't sign a serious potential starter at S, add that to the list; there are about 3 to consider at 20 (maybe a reach for 2 of them). I will be bummed if they pay too much for Edmunds, whether he went to a VA school or not. And with all the QB visiting they've be been doing, can't count that out, or a trade up to get one. You build teams upfront; I say you go DL/OL. It's needed.

I wouldn't scratch off OT, we are still weak there, Chuks signing or not. We could use a legit LT in a bad way.

Left tackle is still a need ; because of lack of depth of overall talent on the O-line.

Defensive line is in much need as well; especially at NT.

Loyd ( ILB) will probably be there as well. Plug and play guy too.

If Hamilton drops to 20, they probably couldn't submit the pick fast enough (provided we don't address it via FA first). I also agree with the others who point out OT is still a need. Chuks' money is bottom of the barrel for starters.

I'd hope we aren't ruling out OT in round 1

          or S

          or even OLB or OG

I agree that we don't need to take a K or P in the 1st, and probably not a FB, RB or TE, either ... but probably every other position should be in play

we have plenty of room to add some talent on almost every part of this team

I agree about safety. If Hamilton starts to drop, I'd do a Troy P and go up to get him

A very large IF but Hamilton would obviate Edmunds and Matthieu and permit a FA Left Tackle signing for 2022-23. As I've mentioned, I was a George Allen fan during his Ram and Redskin incarnations. George made the SB starting a QB mediocrity named Bill Kilmer. As a long ago UCLA undergrad I recall Bill as the dumbest ever UCLA student. If Mitch isn't Kilmer's equal, then I'm in the Springtime of my Senility

Hamilton won't be there at pick #20.

I doubt the Steelers are serious about a safety in the high rounds after looking at who they have had in to visit. Two nobodies + one guy they will never have a chance to draft.

No doubt. Just pointing out that in case that 40 time did send him down the board, he would likely be snatched up in a nanosecond by the Steelers. Safety obviously isn't off the board. But the most realistic scenario is that Hamilton is long gone and then I would agree the top pick should not be spent on a safety. None of the remaining safeties seem like they'd be rated high enough.

Seriously Look at the OTs on this team and then look at the DL before you make a post like this
