    Jordan Davis

I've liked the big guy all along but following the Steelers' free agency bonanza, I'm thinking Davis now becomes the Steelers top target. However, I see a lot of mocks pegging him to the Chargers at 17. Would anyone here be willing to trade up a few spots to get him?

Well it is beginning to look like DL may be the pick, one reason the age of Cam, Alualu, and Tuiit (if he returns). This draft is heavy on defense, I'm not sure if I'd move up or not. I seem "flippy" on this.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

Bush and Jack will both need to be kept spotless to succeed, so I think this is a real possibility. Hope we don't have to trade up, if we do he'd better be a 3-down player.

They won’t move up to grab him. They got other needs that they can fill at #20 if he’s gone. If anything, I’d consider trading down to get more picks. It’s a deep draft on defense and WR.

I seriously doubt we trade down in the 1st but anything is possible.

They never trade down in the first round. I can’t recall if they’ve ever done it.

My first choice from Day 1 but I think his combine performance put him in the Top 10 out of our reach.

agreed... and i just don't see it happening - well, with one exception -- i think they like Willis enough that he fell beyond 15 or so, they might start looking for partners

Under Colbert, the only trade down was from 16 to 19 (Jets) to take NT Casey Hampton. They picked up a 4th and a 6th, IIRC.

I think our biggest remaining needs are:

SS <- no starter...but haven't heard any news about Edmunds so hope that means he doesn't have a huge market.
CB <- two Ok starters, would be nice to have a really good cost controlled guy. Will be a need next year with Sutton voiding after this season

But if we can bring Edmunds (or something similar) in from UFA, then I think we're kind of free to let the board come to us. Which is always what Colbert wants to do in theory (even though they do end up reaching sometimes).

Thanks. I was thinking maybe the Hampton draft but wasn’t sure.

This is my thought exactly. We need to keep our inside backers as clean as possible. Provided there's no attrition along the DL like last year, and the Steelers could go from worst against the run to one of the best. Outside of a franchise QB, I see no other position...or player that could have a more transformational impact at this point.

The Chargers signed Sebastian Joseph-Day and looking at other teams needs, he may just fall to us at 20 (not likely but possible).
If he does, that would definitely be my pick.
