This ends the Watson dream but I think that ended weeks ago when everyone said the Steelers were not interested.

          Structure might matter.

It could be something where it's not hard to get out of after year 1, but the value ramps up quickly in year 2.

I don't think that would be terrible as long as we can get out.

Cheap in year 1. But if we decide that you're going to be a starter in year 2, then you get paid more.

The problem with that structure would be that if we decide we don't want him to start in year 2, we're back to having no QBs on the roster in 2023.

Hope it's somewhere around what we're paying Mason this year. With an easy option to cut next year.

2 years make sense because we had 0 QBs under contract for 2023.
I guess the worrisome thing about this is that it's a minute 1 contract in the UFA period.

That's definitely when you overpay guys.

Looking forward to seeing what the value it.

not also might be where Mitch thinks he has the best chance to succeed.

              1. Great pieces to the defebse
              2. Bell cow RB in place
              3. OC that caters to a mobile QB
              4. Weak competition for the starter spot.
duck and noodle arm were able to lead this team to .500 record

is there anyone else he can sign with that gives him the edge to be the starter ??

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. If it was cheap, he'd keep shopping.

Hopefully, starts low byt balloons massively in year 2 that we can opt out of.

That would be a confident Trubiski betting on himself.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

I hope you are right. There are other teams out there. Whoever loses the big fish would be looking at MT as the next best option.

This is outstanding in my opinion. Bring in a guy who was the number 2 overall pick just a few years ago and have him compete with Rudolph and Haskins for the starting spot. We use 2022 to see if any of them are a long-term solution or whether we have to draft a quarterback next year. Trubisky and Mariota were two of the guys I was hoping we would land.

                    On to the offensive line!!

Exactly. While we aren’t a QB away I think Mitch see’s this as the best chance to resurrect his career.

You have to think QB is still definitely on the table during the draft. I don’t think they have a shot at Willis but Pickett/Corral may still be there at 20.

Kinda interesting that we have two, first-round draft pick QB's on the team.

I'll be very surprised if Trubisky isn't the starter in week one.

What I watched from him the last 2 seasons in Chicago was scary. I don't expect much at all, so hopefully it didn't cost too much.

Andrew Fillipponi on The Fan hates this signing. He’s going nuts. lol

He thinks we’re no more that a 6 win team with Trubisky. I like Poni but this may be a little over the top.
